HEC releases Pakistan's top universities lists

I expected NUST and LUMS to be a bit higher on the overall standings. Also GIKI not in the top ten.

GIKI used to have excellent foreign teachers, but they all left. The campus is great, but in the worst possible region. Mullah land.....not much to do there....my friends who went there, said it was the toughest time of their lives.

National University of Sciences & Technology, Islamabad is ranked around 400 in the world.

No matter what Pakistani Degrees-Diploma-Certificates are rejected through out the world. Thanks to bad Government policies and HECs poor rules regulations governance. This is a fact nobody can deny.

I know one of my cousin completed his MBA from VU and I tell you his knowledge is extremely poor I have met certain other students from VU and they are alike. Its all copy paste rata cheat and take a hike find a job if lucky enough to find a job, in short I would say these days 70% of the students are time pass.

I don't know about you guys but this ranking list is way way off in my opinion. I mean come on! Look at the list. A few years ago I remember checking the HEC university scoring. Lums out scored second place NUST by a fair margin and then came giki, Agha khan and the rest. PU? Seriously? No GIKI? Lums at 10? Who made this list?

giki is top rated university go there and see my brother is giki grad workingin schlumberger 2 year graduated ,i know three people from giki one is warda inam currently in mit with gpa 4.0(go check her name in mit website ),, another one is durdana achakzai who is vp of barclays bank (giki/harvard) ( check from hbs website)another one is raheel adnan janjua my bros friend in hbs and worked in schlumberger.... giki is km away from tarbela dam which is very well protected area, and for a fact go check their faculty it still has 10-15 foreign professor most them are russians, due to russian dominated faculty and aq khan being dean of one department ( idk which one ) giki was blacklisted by usa ,it is no more blacklisted but it is being extra cautious and normally giki admin THE SOPREST resists in submitting its document to international forum it was rated 3 in asia in 1997 by asian times and soon will come back on international forum ...
lums ,gik and aku are top pakistani institutions i am currently a university student at lse(lahore) been to gik 2 3 times

HEC rankings are somewhat debatable , specially in business education . These two institutes at number 4 and 5 are shocker

4.Sukkur Institute of Business Administration

5.National College of Business Administration & Economics, Lahore

Specially the below one, the institute is in Lahore and hardly anyone knows about it , when the ranking was disclosed many people were wondering is there any institute in Lahore with the name "National College of Business Administration & Economics" and i was one of them never heard about it... the day i saw the ranking was the first day i came to know about the institute name followed by the online search... I never met any MBA or business graduate from this institute ,never heard about it being a business graduate ...Real shocker

HEC criteria is based upon many other factors like the campus size, number of books in library and facilities etc etc that might handicapped the market worth of an institute

FAST is horrible, according to my friends studying there.

In computer studies its a very reputed institute in Lahore but in other fields like business studies it may surely have some glitches but you cant write it off in cs specially the one in lahore

Strange listing, no UET, Lahore while most of the research is happening at UET Lahore these days, and they have done tromondous achievements in last 2 years.. Also no GIKI, which is also in top research.. anyhow.. something to cheer about, we have ranking system now..
