What's new

Heavy gunfire and reports of police casualties as swat teams launch pre-dawn raids in northern Paris

10.000 are currently deployed in the streets. Do you imagine ? We deployed more soldier on our soil that in overseas operation !

That's because you have a greater threat to your nation internally than in any overseas operations.

I suspect it shall stay like this for sometime till the French get hold & eradicate of such fundamentalists on their soil

. . .
Allez GIGN!!!!

The raid was involved. :)
But these men are as badass as the GIGN !

People who don't learn from experience of others are bound to repeat them.....

Want to shortlist terrorist suspects for further processing..... go with logic......

1. Saudi's (it's literally written over the wall - jannah is always just a few block away from them - look back and see the signs)
2. Syrians (new kids on the block - mostly thanks to the West, before that they were nicely sandboxed by Assad)
3. Palestinians (no matter what you do, they'll always feel persecuted)
4. Lebanese (old scores to settle, perhaps)
5. Afghans that have been radicalized, directly by #1 and indirectly by #3's whining.
6. Look into French history and see if you've whipped someone's arse for no reason whatsoever, that's what disenfranchises citizens.

Above all, shortlist the whole family of anyone who wears a full face veil. They just don't wear it for no reason, there's always a past behind it, and mostly it's a horror story waiting to happen.

After all above is done, stay away from the Yanks and their "foreign policy", mostly it comes at the cost of their "friends" and enemies alike, only one left standing is them.

been watching coverage of the raid for the last few hours. Good for the French!! A bit OT, but kind of fascinating that as I write this, it's still pitch dark here in the states, yet bright and sunny in France :)

Currently watching police storming a church in Saint-Denis

We fully support the French... even though the west did not support us when we suffered during the 90s...

What we see are the last throes of a wounded animal kicking

1. Sun is setting on house of Saud. Expect a nice oil war further depress the oil prices with sanctions being lifted on Iran. Further seeing the cars Tesla is producing, i expect more companies to come up with drive-able electric cars which would put Petrols and diesels to shame.

2. All that is left in Syria is winding up. France was the last straw - ISIS and ASSAD have no chance against the forces which are aligning against them including all of Europe, Russia and US. Expect Putin to sacrifice Asaad for some strategic gains in Eastern Europe. He took the short term hit due to sanctions for long term gain.

3. Palestine will remain a festering wound like Kashmir. There are no solutions which would be palatable to both sides.

4. Afganishtan - Future depends on India and Pakistan with inevitable US withdrawl, others are pawns.

I know my post is out of context to yours and the thread but the point is things are going to settle down now - worst is over. Of-course one has to be vigilant as the cornered enemy is often a dangerous one.

The geo-poltical battleground would soon now shift to other areas including China.

Potential Spoilers

Arab world - In it's bid to retain relevant.

Russia - Putin has it in his mind to milk Syrian Crisis more due to lack of proper incentives and concessions.

US - Yanks are full of tricks, they play the game on whole different level - never know what kind of dispensation new POTUS would have.
