Yes it is however just for the sake of clarification it is illegal only because at this late stage abortion is not safe for the mother...Given her mental condition she definitely want to abort the chile however court has to take cognizance of both her rights and safety of her life...not sure why is this even a thread here and why are we discussing such a case....

Fetus is living thing right from 5-6 week because that is when the heart beat starts...by first trismester(12 weeks) all the organs start shaping up...i will once again repeat...abortion is illegal at this late stage because of the risk to mother's life

You need to understand medical difference between just living and becoming viable.

You can not abort a viable fetus.

Law is based on the same term. If a fetus is viable, you can not abort it.

Being viable means it can survive a pre-mature birth with doctors assistance.

However, some medical conditions allow you to abort the fetus even after 20 weeks. Like neurological deformities. I had my kid aborted for the same reason.

Yes I read reality is yes abortions take place in Pakistan but more than 90 % are not because the child is women its due to poor health services poor condition of women and there health and some times due to illegitimate relations

Barring medical reasons, a woman should be allowed to abort whenever she chooses to, if she is committing "murder" according to some they shouldn't really worry. They should take solace in the fact that God will take care of the unborn murdered kid and the mother might face the ultimate punishment in the hereafter.
