Have lost the battle, not the war: Pervez Musharaf reacts to verdict

Musharraf was an agent of that hybrid war, and Pakistan surrendered completely to the dictates of the US shamelessly.

Opposition against Musharraf and his policies grew so much, eventually we toppled him.

He stabbed our best friend and favored nation, Afghanistan, in the back and destroyed Pakistan's image throughout the whole Muslim world.

Alhamdulilah that Taliban forgave us and did not take Musharraf's actions as a representation of our military and civil society.

It's easy to say that he surrendered to the USA dictate when we were not in his seat nor his shoes.
Had we been in his shoes and seat, and having the country's to be protect, i'm not sure nor you nor me would have took other option. As I have already said, have we offered our army the best hardware, Musharraf would have been in position to stand against USA, therefore it is our collective responsability as a Nation.

A better leader would have taken a more courageous decision, but as we saw in the latter part of his rule, his guns turned on the people of Pakistan.

Even Hamid Gul was full of scathing criticism for Musharraf and his policies, he undid all our hard work to keep Afghanistan face and free of Indian hands, but Musharraf handed it to India on a silver platter.

75,000 deaths later, we need to get to the roots of these problems. All those responsible need to be punished, and Musharraf most of all.

courageous but disastrous ! It would have give Pakistan on silver pla.. no not on silver but on golden plate to India. And Pakistan would have broken and we will have seen lot emirs with there terror armies fighting each others. Like Syria today.

No one knows brother because we went a different route. I never said to confront US directly, but maybe remain neutral.

It was too bad that all Muslim countries in the world got weak knees besides Pakistan, which tried to make peace.

After we switched sides to US, we went too far in our slavery to them.

These bastards can't touch Musharraf. We stand with Musharraf and so do the vast majority of Pakistanis.

Bro I understand and accept that we don’t know what could have happened had we chosen different direction. But one thing I’m sure that when you are at the head of state seat ( elected or not) you always have to weigh the gains, the risks keeping in mind your capabilities and the capabilities of others stake holders. It’s never easy or simple.

Had you read what I read in the start of the 90’s in french reputed geopolitical magazine about the necessity for USA to shift their foreign policy toward China’s containment, you wouldn’t have disagreed with the decision taken by Musharraf.

It’s a chess board and game is very high level with thinking over 50 next years plan.

The risks were too high to stay out of the dynamics or even to stay neutral knowing they were already against Pakistan and our nukes program.

They were already thinking to use indians in there plan.

Without doubt only Allah know, and He is the Best Planner. And we as insan we could make, and we make for sure, mistakes.

Logical and neutral post. I cannot argue with your points as I agree.

It is a shame that no matter how much we supported Americans, sold out Afghans and our own people, they still brought Indians into Afghanistan to form TTP to sabotage and try to break our society.

Alhamdulilah only by the Qudrat of Allah swt we are still standing.

Most of us were and are still ashamed for whatever happened wherever. But I'm more ashamed of not having developed our country (and it's valid for all Muslims countries) despite Muslims having money, scientists, engineers and what not.

Had we did what we have to, never what happened would have happened.
If TTP came, we should know that brainwashing people is not hard, you just have to use psychological analysis and find the weakness of the people.... And we were already victims of what we call today the 5th gen and hybrid wars

I could be wrong but we should keep faith and avoid hate, and try our best to work hard for a better future.
