Haqqani Network: who are they, what are they like?

It seems that as the means of obtaining information continue to diversify and branch far out of the control of the compromised mainstream media oligarchy, groups in Pakistan still seem shrouded in mystery. I was wondering if anyone here had any good information, even anecdotal or obtained through 'unnamed sources' on the Haqqani Network. Who currently leads them? Where are they based? From which area do most of their members hail? Are they Wahabi, Deobandi, nothing in particular, or what, in terms of their religious disposition?
