What's new

Happy Thanksgiving

The Native Indians are back they want their land back Ahoy ... you there immigrants
There's one problem, Native Americans believed that land didn't belong to anyone only to Earth, it is borrowed from Earth. So how exactly are we to give the land back to them when it was never there's in the first place?
What is this festival all about?

Greetings to all those who are celebrating.
It's about when some Native Americans helped the first immigrants survive the winter.

Look who is talking, the self-hating Viet-Chinese-Aussi-Swede-American with a bunch of identity crisis trying to tell me German history.

First of all, we don't celebrate the Volkstrauertag with party, lavish banquette and a day off, rather the Volkstrauertag has changed so much since the end of WWII that today it has become a day to remember not only the fallen soldiers of all wars but also all victims of war and despotism. It is a day to admonish us not to go to start war again.

Arschkriecher gonna arsch kriechen now that I gave you the right facts of the Volkstrauertag.

Shall I care what's your version of Volkstrauertag? And it would be nice of you to know not all American celebrate Thanksgiving with Parties, Lavish Banquette. You can see Thanksgivings as a tool or a day we celebrate massacre of native Indian over dead Native American head, then I can see Volkstrauertag as German starting World Wars.

An American Hating German (Probably from China) is in any position to teach me how we American supposed to celebrate Thanksgiving, an American Holiday?? Then comeback and tell me I don't know anything about German Celebration?

Aren't you a lil' hypocritic? Lol, you don't have to reply to me, I think we all have the answer.

Seriously, starting to derail a Holiday Celebration post is just low. Did any American come to Pakistani Threads and start derailing Muslim celebrating EID or Ramadan? Or The Chinese on Lunar New Years?

It's just new low for some members here if you asked me

.
Do we celebrate the schism of the church on the European continent as a national holiday? The greatest exodus was still Anglos/ Irish where the 30 Years' War didn't even take place. On the other hand, the schism of the church on the British Island took place a century earlier during the reign of Henry VII.

The biggest exodus took place in the 19th century, 200 years after Pax Westphalia.

Stop spreading BS!
Like the man said, buddy, you gave yourself the freedom to interpret US history, we will give ourselves the freedom to interpret Germany's history. So how about this: any expression of German pride and nationalism is based upon the German people's historical racism and warmongering ?

You care enough to use it against Germany and failed miserably.

Instead of comparing Volstrauertag with a more "similar" Memorial Day, you tried to pass it as some kind of Thanksgiving where we party on the graves of the victims of war and aggression. If the Volkstrauertag equals to Germany starting WWs, then the US is celebrating two different days (Memorial Day, Veterans Day) in starting: List of wars involving the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm not telling you how to celebrate, but that you celebrate at all! I thought English is your mother tongue, or was it Chinese? Vietnames? Swedish?

As a matter of fact, you know pretty much nothing about Germany, unless you search online.

Oh, suddenly you are an American, didn't you say you were Australian? Or was it Vietnamese or Chinese?

One couldn't get lower than to celebrate the death of millions.

Like the man said, buddy, you gave yourself the freedom to interpret US history, we will give ourselves the freedom to interpret Germany's history. So how about this: any expression of German pride and nationalism is based upon the German people's historical racism and warmongering ?

Says the guy from a country who treated your forefathers like animlas by bombing and poisoning the hell out of them and till today never apologised. :disagree:

lol maybe before you criticize someone else language skill, it's best to look at your own first, dude, you are all over thre place.

I never said the bolded part.

Maybe your comprehension skill is lacking or you just want to fabricate something out of thin air so that you can accuse me of being a hypocrite. I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say it's the former.

I said, we do not celebrate thanksgiving on top of Native American head, I did not say German celebrate or Observe Volstrauertag like German party of the grave of victims of war of aggression.

Seems to me you are missing the point of what I did say, but also seems to me you are the only one missing it, so that would not be my problem if someone else understand what I said.

My point is, as Gambit illustrated. A non-American, have no knowledge of American history and have no connection or knowledge of Native American History accuse of American being a hypocrite of celebrating a day that mark the mass murder of Native Indian. If you have any idea on Native American History, or actually know some Native American yourselves, you would have know the spirit of Thanksgiving is not about killing Native American, it's actually celebrating the native harvest that help the white settler in winter.

And do you know who else beside white settler celebrate thanksgiving? - THE NATIVE AMERICAN, the first nation people, they celebrate thanksgiving too, so are you going to say they celebrate their people killing their own kind? lol

I'm not telling you how to celebrate, but that you celebrate at all! I thought English is your mother tongue, or was it Chinese? Vietnames? Swedish?

Dude, you do realise that to tell someone not to do something is to that someone how to do the same things right??
You tell me NOT TO CELEBRATE, that's actually the same as telling me how to celebrate thanksgiving, in this case, you are telling me "DON'T". Tell me not to do something is telling me how to do that things

Is English really that hard for you??

As a matter of fact, you know pretty much nothing about Germany, unless you search online.

So, ahh, now you are on to my identity? So what, I have British Passport, US passport, Swedish Passport, Chinese Passport and Australian Passport. Then I can claim I am a Britain, Australian, Chinese, American and Swedish. Tell me why I can't call myself all those nationality when I have the citizenship from all those country?

BEFORE YOU LECTURE SOMEONE ON THEIR IDENTITY CRISIS, WHY DON'T YOU LOOK AT YOURS FIRST? You said you are a german's german, yet you always try to chime in with Chinese Glory. In this case, either you are really a German, or you are a Chinese Living in Germany. If this is the first case, then I feel bad for you, because no matter how hard you try to suck up on Chinese Glory, YOU WILL NEVER BE CHINESE, and I will always be more Chinese then you can ever get. If it is the latter case, then I feel sorry for you as you feel inferior enough to raise a Chinese flag.

Either way, a person who cannot take pride on the banner they wave, and he try to lecture someone else regarding nationality and identity? If this is not Hypocrisy, then I don't know what is

lol, nice knowing you, now bugger off
