Oh thats strange because my brother has a sister in kerla who sends her rakhis every rakshabandhan. (She is a christian)

is it..? Maybe due to northie classmates she came to know..

But it is not a native festival like Deepavali,Pongal,Sankaranti etc,and most people in Tamil Nadu (for sure) dont celebrate it.
