Actually religon is involved you are very much correct. i was talking about the celebration part that it is equally celebrated by everyone irrespective of religon so goes beyond the boundaries of religon.

The only day i cut off my relation with outside world..didnt even attend the phone .. i tried to explain the gals that i am from south India and i dont belive in it ;-) i even tried to play religious card here but no help ..so now prefered to stay at home rather than going out side in this particular day

It's amazing how women are so selective of their feminist fight. Brothers have to pay up, so they don't mind reverting back centuries and asking the men for protection .

Trsut me women are good at "adapting to the situation" ..some one said the right thing here..Hindi serials and cinemas are destroying culture here few years back i was living my life peacefully and all of a sudden new celebrations came and all of a sudden gals who i had/have crush wanted to become my behan..
