What's new

Happy Raam Navmi to all

Good going everyone...it is good to see people involving in healthy discussion over some very fundamental subjects.

The pure and pious intentions and the social system to generate such intentions should be our collective and ultimate goal as societies of human beings. When discussions in a society transcend personal feelings to only seek knowledge and truth, then we can be sure that we are heading in the right direction.

I hope I confused nay one. :)

Hey everybody knows that.

I was also not trying to hurt your religious sentiments. However, I am Hindu, but not religious at all.

BTW How many hairs do you have on your head (only answer if you are not bald)?
The amount of hair I have on my head can cover your whole body, you surely won't need any extra piece of clothing.:lol::lol:

3 are the trideva ....the creator, the conserver/protector , the destroyers..
10 are the main avatar of the conserver Vishnu,,,,,,which include Bhagwan Rama , bhagwan krishana ,bhagwan Buddha ...etc

I am not hurt, it was just a sarcastic comment to a very unknowable kind of stuff and a not so intelligent question to ask.

The amount of hair I have on my head can cover your whole body, you surely won't need any extra piece of clothing.:lol::lol:

The question was to give you an analogy to the question you posed.

when all your wishes are over. But the wish for nirvana is also a wish. You need to be over it. No bondage no nothing. Not possible practically i say.

Let me clarify on this - the desire of nirvana is actually the void of all desires. So when you have no desire, the desire of nirvana sets in by default - you may not be conscious of that, but even if you are the desire of nirvana cannot bond you, unless you do not realize what nirvana is. The void of desires, however, is not the only prerequisite - there are many other, seemingly more tougher ones to attain the final liberation.

The lack of desires should not make you lifeless in your approach, it simply means that you have no desires and not that you have no life - hard to differentiate I can see.

Hinduism is not strictly a religion. It is based on the practice of Dharma, the code of life. The original name of Hindu Dharma is Sanatana Dharma, or "universal religion."

Unlike other religions, Hindu Dharma did not originate from a single person, a single book, or at a single point in time. The foundations of this oldest surviving religion were laid by ancient rishis (sages), who taught their disciples the eternal principles of life they had discovered through their meditations.

Hindu Dharma is essentially a religion of principles rather than persons. Since Hinduism has no founder, anyone who practices Dharma can call himself a Hindu. Statistically, there are over 700 million Hindus, concentrated mainly in India and Nepal.

Remarkably explained! Something to take note of by members who seek information on Hinduism.
