Nopes, print media was very active after 1988. There were several newspapers reporting every bit of the news, even publishing pictures of the incidents going on at that time. So it's very hard for me to agree with you.

These crimes has been going on for long time. Its only after Kasur riots after Zainab murder we started paying attention. Before 2010 there was no way to catch culprits with DNA evidence. Also majority of people would just burry their kids without reporting to police out of shame.

You are forgetting the fact that family usually doesnt report rapes in Pakistan. Things have gotten better only recently, still long time to go. We will hear more of these cases till things get better.
