So no one in Pakistan can criticise Army?

I thought the top brass in army is now more open minded but clearly I was wrong. The dictatorship, autocracy and subjugation is in the blood of top military generals.

Why ban him or target his family? Let the people decide if they dont like him they ll boycott his show.


The stupidity among the military establishment is mind boggling. Some people never learn!!

Dont trust these make believe stories these fake journalists churn out. There is a new media out there. Its social media. The talk show model is now 17 years old and many dozen private media channels play these talk shows from 7 to 11pm everyday. People dont watch them anymore so the ratings are going down. Once people like HAmid Mir were king makers. They are living in their past.

The talk show model is too outdated. The private media needs to rethink and innovate. Eventually, many private media channels will go under and media consolidation will be inevitable. This is a transition time in media and many icons of the past like Hamid Mir will fall face down. Their ego does not allow them to accept reality.

This ISI bashing gets media attention abroad. Since people dont follow these journalists anymore, they play the victim narrative just like Nawaz Sharif.

Asma Shrirazi and Munizae Jahangir should be next

These are foreign paid media agents. They have not much following in Pakistan. Imagine how stupid you have to be to follow Munize Jahangir! They play the narrative that foreign agencies amplify and this builds a case against Pakistan Army. Remember that bitch Asma Jahangir? Munize is her daughter. She was no friend of Pakistan Army and was always saying bad things about Army.

Army can have several faults. But there is no one who fights for the country on frontlines and keep us safe. This undue criticism is not acceptable.

Never liked Hamid Mir. He is and always has been anti state and anti military. This much I think 90% of the members on this forum will agree with.

But here is some more truth that most members here will not like:

- One of the key backers of IK from the beginning was Hamid Mir and his show Capital Talk + Geo itself.

- Hamid Mir was considered to be the best journalist in Pakistan by IK.

And this is from the days when IK himself was very anti-establishment/military / Musharraf times.

Maybe last years of Mushi.. because in the start he himself gave them these news channels and freedom to jurnos.. Hamdi Mir at that time was a talwe chat as far as my research has found..

First of all do you think Hamid Mir criticised army ? He used foul language to do propaganda against army that too on basis of no proofs..

Secondly bahi army never banned him it was Geo TV and maybe they had to take this action because this time even they are cautious.. they did 8 hours of propaganda for Hamid Mir when he was shot saying ISI this and ISI that but when Hamid Mir filled FIR he didn't mention ISI which led to action against GEO this time GEO just knew not to trust Hamid Mir.. and now that Hamid has no other backer he is playing family card.. but believe me this isn't going to work and then he will not only sit in legs of those same general and ask for forgiveness but he will also publicly apologise and do same BS few weeks later but hopefully he will be prosecuted this time..

And what stupidity? This is what these propagandists want.. people like you and me to think it was establishments job when they had nothing to do with it..

Instead of giving him more fame he should be prosecuted and brought to court. Ask him to give proof or else he should be jailed for 10 to20 years for constantly defaming a govt institute without proof. Jail one such journalist and dnt let him out early and ull see how all the scum will act human.

Let the culprits be arrested first then we will hopefully see prosecution against Hamid.. faces of culprits are on camera so it will he easy to track them down..

Its not about criticism on army. As a journalist you are supposed to bring out the truth for the PUBLIC. You serve democracy by bringing out facts that help shape public opinion. Serving the national interest or being against a particular political thought is an editorial decision but no matter what your personal opinion is, you have to be true to your profession and the public.

Problem with Hamir Mir and other journalists is that they serve whoever they can milk. Some are blatantly pro-military and some are against--basically highest bidder gets to own these journalists. If you have watched his outburst, you might have noticed that his remarks were not worthy of any half decent journalist. Even if the allegations he threw against military are true, his job as a journalist is to bring these forward to the PUBLIC. Not use this piece of information as a weapon or blackmail tool, which he clearly said so himself ("Main btaa dun ga, main raaz khol dun ga").

His speech clearly showed what people in Pakistan have come to know about most big name journalists--these people are blackmailers. O bhai, if you know something then come out with it. Don't keep it to yourself to blackmail people. That's where most journalists in Pakistan fail.

GEO killed two birds with one stone.. now GEO has promoted Hamid Mirs narrative more by implying that it was establishment even tho they themselves said it was their own decision and then secondly played it safe as they knew they can be taken to court for "Bongian" of Hamid Mir..

Public pressure and companies refusing to buy advertisement slots during the programme - maybe someone pressured the marketing companies or maybe someone pressured the public to demand his arrest on social media?

But you are free to blame the army. Bear in mind that Army openly put Dawn on shit list so why would they do this secretly?

In International Media, you can get attention and fame overnight by writing or publishing something Anti-Islamic, and In Pakistan, you can get overnight fame and lifaffy from Foreigners by writing or Spewing any BS without evidence against ISI or PA, because of some incidents in Past and an image of Agency such circuses are easy to pull through and people will buy it without any thought of that not a single Evidence was ever Given.

Just suppressing, banning, use of force is not the solution to the problem. Pak is not India.

Again he has been exposed time and again that too by his own claims.. and same argument can be implied on Mir and it fits on him even more due to him being a jurno.. where are proof of his allegations ? His slander ? why not ask proof that Asad Toor was attacked by ISI..?

And ask PPP about the attack.. GEO ran 8 hour marathon for Hamid Mir slandering ISI and at the end Hamid himself didn't even mention ISI in F.I.R.

And if state was supressing banning and using force these propagandists wouldn't be doing all this BS drama so openly.. now they are promoting Israel as well..

@Jungibaaz read through and actual issue will emerge. It isn’t that this could very well be a conspiracy and designed to break the Pakistani state and military; but because the history exists it is not difficult to build a false narrative on it.

Now if Pakistan goes to the UN or wherever on Palestine or Kashmir - this record can be thrown at them.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any happy endings here. Aitezaz Ahsan put it rather correctly - he squarely blamed his generation for the current destruction of Pakistan and sadly the majority of the following generations are too stupid to let go of their parents sins and behaviors.
