The article confirms that the Defence Ministry is going to soon clear the order for 97 more Tejas Mk1A fighters.

Also the IAF is pushing the case for 156 new Prachand gunships, as well as new Light Utility Helis and the Su-30MKI upgrade.

Su-30MKI upgrade will initially be for 90 jets and then encompass the remaining 160 as well.

Project Kusha for 5 squadrons of the MR-SAM which will be in the same league as the S-400 SAM from Russia.

Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari confirms that the IAF will be going ahead with a contract for 97 more Tejas Mk1As for a total of 220 Tejas Mk1/Mk1As.

And HAL CMD has stated that HAL is committed to deliver all 8 twin seater Tejas trainers to the IAF by March 2024. 4 from the first 20 IOC Tejas Mk1 contract and 4 from the second 20 FOC Tejas Mk1 contract.

Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari said that IAF would be going forward to procure 97 more LCAs and with this it will have 220 LCAs in its inventory.

HAL CMD CB Ananthakrishnan said that the company was committed to deliver all the twin-seater aircraft pertaining to the initial operational clearance (IOC) and final operational clearance (FOC) contract to IAF in the current financial year.
 
Angad seems to be name given to the Advanced Self Protection Jammer (ASPJ) pod that DRDO has developed and as per this article, has successfully completed all trials on the Tejas Mk1A prototypes.

The pod is very advanced, with AESA T/R elements and ultra wideband DRFM jamming capability.

Just look at the massive deceleration that the Naval LCA Mk1 trainer experiences after it bangs onto the runway at the Shore Based Test Facility at INS Hansa in Goa and the arresting hook catches the wire.

The stresses that Naval fighters and airplanes sustain as they land on the carrier is simply astonishing. Oleos fully compressed, the tires almost completely compressed.

Some more details of the targeted specifications for the TEDBF

-Combat range of 400 NM (very similar to the Super Hornet)
-Endurance of 2 hours for CAP missions
-Similar concept as the Rafale and the ADA Project Director admitted that it looks like the Rafale, but all of the design is Indian. The wing sweeps, the canards, the DSI intakes, etc.
- Wing fold is present unlike the Rafale, due to stowage restrictions on board INS Vikramadity and INS Vikrant

Oh boy - that is ONE dirty - disorganised messy assembly hall for the fighter .... shocking.

Not suprised Dassault did not want to be responsbile for the warranty of Rafales assembed in India after seeing this picture!

And Egypt is seriously thinking of getting this fighter ??

Don‘t we already have a separate dedicated thread on the TEDBF and even more, can anyone explain to me what‘s its current status is: A fully sanctioned and founded project like the Tejas Mk, 2 and the AMCA or an internet study for?

Current Status: Preliminary Design Review Complete, Critical Design Review Going On, to be completed by the end of 2024 or early 2025

Project is fully supported by the Indian Navy and Funding for PDR was provided by them, where as Ministry of Defence is funding the CDR.

Project is not yet fully funded like Tejas Mk2 or AMCA because it is yet to complete its CDR and thus hasn't been presented before the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) for funding.
CCS funding is to be approved no early than 2025, and first prototype is to fly no early than 2028
