Cost of Hajj is going up everywhere. With increased construction work, there are less hotels available at the moment so prices are increasing.

Besides this idea of state sponsored hajj is daft. Hajj is only an obligation on those with the means to pay for it. If you can't afford it, don't go.

If the state can pay for education, healthcare, welfare of the poor, defence, infrastructure - then the state should try to subsidise Hajj to make it easy for the citizens of this country; but not until it is fulfilling it's other basic duties.

Many great awliya, many great Islamic leaders did not perform the hajj - they put their duty to their people first.

This is a great fund. Absolutely no politician should be doing hajj or umrah on state cost.
