If I am not Mistaken they are from "Roma" Tribe, which still follow the child marriage...

Roma tribes are Indian descendant The Indian migrated from rajsthan, haryana and get settled in Eastern Europe... The child marriage is still exist in Western part of India (though in less number)

Many Roma members who have settle down in Western Europe have changed ..

But yes some roma do practice "child" e.g teen marriage, not all though. For romas its important that women are virgins when they marry, for traditionalist romas. for me its not really so important.

In gypsy culture virginity is greatly prized and women are married young so that new husband's can be sure their new wives are virgins who affect a good dowry from the families of prospective husbands. Loss of virginity means a deal is cancelled.

EVERYTIME!! Backwards beliefs/rituals are justified as "culture"!! Well, move with the F**KING times!! In MEDIEVAL times it was cultural to have ONE bath a year, in ancient Egypt it was CULTURAL to have rulers buried in tombs with their (alive) and rooms full of treasure for the after life, in the Roman empire it was CULTURAL to have men fight to the DEATH in front of hordes for entertainment value. Normal , humans are by Nature suppose to bred and have children at 12 -14 years old (as origionally) our life spans were about 40-45 years prior to medical science ....


Women are ready by age 12 , and boys mature around 13-14 years or so

Western civilization may state none sense of being married at 21 , or 22 but naturally ... humans are birth ready .. very young age
