A gunfight broke out between Mujahideen and government forces in South Kashmir's Kulgam district this afternoon, an official told
He said after receiving an input about the presence of Lashkar Mujahideen in Chinargam village of the district, police's counter-insurgency Special Operation Group, various units of army and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force cordoned off the area.
As the forces were conducting searches,Lashkar e tyyba Mujahideen believed to be two in number opened fire from a house. Sources said the Mujahideen were from Lashkar-e-Toiba.
The Mujahideen are trapped in a house as the exchange of fire is going on.
Reportedly four Mujahideen got trapped, two have been identified as Abas Malla resident of Nowpora Frisal and Manzoor malik resident of Chanigam.
Flesh lites have been installed at encouter site.
