Chabahar was postponed for years because of the sanctions and hence India couldn't get European suppliers. Funny how these geniuses are saying this is a 'strategic encirclement port' when they only have one out of 9 berths there. The Iranians are milking them as usual, I wonder if they realize this. The same port was offered to China, now instead of spending billions on that, the Pakistani/Chinese are proposing linking Chabahar to Gwadar with a highway, since Chabahar is not a deep water port, they can access Gwadar when the need arises.

Do you know how many projects India 'conceived? Let me tell you

1) IPI pipeline: no progress after 15 years?
2) India Burma pipeline: No progress and in the end the Chinis took over and made it Myanmar China pipeline
3) India Bangla Myanmar economic bla bla: Nothing happened except for a small inland port

Compare that to what China planned and got completed:

1) China Central Asia pipeline: DONE, now expansion on second phase
2) China Myanmar pipeline: Done.
3) Gwadar port: DONE, now taking over operations and potential military base. Potential expansion of capacity.
4) China Russia pipeline: Oil pipeline done, now gas pipeline in the works.
5) Kyaupyu port: DONE, now taking over operations. Depending on Burmese desperation, and amid Rohingya crisis, China might pressure for a naval port.
6) Hambantota port: DONE, taking over operations. Naval port will depend on domestic politics, if Rajapaksa comes to power. Bye bye India.
7) Djibouti port and base: Commerical port completed, military base recently completed and started up.

True, a connection with Chabahar is beneficiary, Iranian relationship with China is even stronger than India, they need us to veto and defend their interest in UN and we have been their main weapons supplier for a longgg time. I doubt they will hand over strategic control of Chabahar to India, most likely another milking exercise.

Pakistan is still not sure but after Iranian reassurance it relaxed,

Chabahar is not the same as Gwader, Gwader has some natural deep water capacity that Chabahar cant match

As discussed Iranians, Pakistan, China are in talks to connect the ports so deep water stuff can be sent to Gwader if Chabahar cant handle and docked in Gwader and unloaded and sent to Chabahar for the same reason

I think India is only getting one berth for 10 years. But you are right, let us connect Chabahar with Gwadar, let's kick start the economy in that region and prosper together.

Do you know how China became a Republic of China (1912 -1949) and then PRC (1949 - present) in the first place, especially Republic of China ??? I hope Pakistan see a similar revolution down the road so that you become a strong country just like China.

Let me understand this. A Chinese crane manufacturer won an auction held in Iran to supply cranes India does not manufacture_ and to a port that is being built to compete with China's Gawadar port, and you are bragging about this win?

That's because the port was never a strategic investment in the eyes of the Chinese, it's the typical India self victory mentality at work again. Hence they were laughing when the Indians came to buy those cranes for hundreds of millions. Get it genius? Want me to start educating you on geography and geopolitics again? Indians are like clowns, at first they shout to the whole world, they are gonna challenge China, and now they are begging to buy Chinese. You don't see the irony here?

Hint> the port was offered to China before and a big goondu took over a single berth with no operational management. Genius to the core.

If we are happy and Indians are happy, that's win-win.
