Guess who won an Indian contract in Chabahar? the Chinese

That's because the port was never a strategic investment in the eyes of the Chinese, it's the typical India self victory mentality at work again. Hence they were laughing when the Indians came to buy those cranes for hundreds of millions. Get it genius? Want me to start educating you on geography and geopolitics again? Indians are like clowns, at first they shout to the whole world, they are gonna challenge China, and now they are begging to buy Chinese. You don't see the irony here?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

The irony here is a Chinese company sold cranes to an Iran- India port that is going to compete directly with China's Gwadar port. Instead of trying to educate everyone here_ why don't you stop the self-gratification for a wee bit and read the article.

1. The cranes are not going to be used in India where the security concerns were cited i.e. they did want any Chinese company anywhere close to Indian ports (in India).
2. These are going to be purchased for an Iranian port, you know 'in' Iran.
3. The Chinese company gave the cheapest price in the auction to help a port that is going to compete against China

Compete with Gwadar? I am gonna stop here, you have no idea what you are talking about. Let me give you a hint, which MNC is gonna make eyeran their transshipment hub? Get it genius?

1. The cranes are not going to be used in India where the security concerns were stated i.e. they did want any Chinese company anywhere close to Indian ports (in India). No comment here, it's India's choice, if they think cranes can spy on them when the spy sats could do the same, then go ahead and pay more by 30% to buy European goods. It's a free market after all.

2. These are going to be purchased for an Iranian port, you know 'in' Iran. Yes, IN IRAN and it was supposed to be a port to compete with the Chinese and here you are paying the Chinese for equipment in the hundreds of millions which is gonna be used to sustain a company called ZPMC who in return supplies to the Chinese military?

3. The Chinese company gave the cheapest price in the auction to help a port that is going to compete against China. The Chinese were the ONLY ones able to supply other than the Europeans and the Europeans are not supplying it. What happens when you are the only contender and the other party is desperate for it? It just became a monopoly genius.

You think a few millions, the cost of some cranes is going sustain you longer and be a win for China vs. helping a port that will do business in billions of dollars in direct competition with your Gawdar port.

 and you claim to be educating the rest of us with your intelligence?

Oh- to answer your other question. Europe likes Iran, a majority of Asia likes Iran and India does...pretty good market I would say. Plus unlike your Gawdar port which is a huge security risk, Iran has no such issues internally.

Well, money is money, however small, if India wants to pay us, I have no complaints.

Let me give you a hint, China is planning to link Chabahar to Gwadar, Gwadar port capacity is the whole Indian port capacity combined. Chabahar is only 1/10th of that capacity. Due to sanctions, no MNC will make Chabahar their main node in their shipping route, there are 2/3 major Chinese shipping companies in the top 10 shipping lines, if you include ethnic Chinese companies, it might be 4/5.

Chabahar can actually complement Gwadar, larger cargoes bound for Iran is transshipped from Gwadar to Chabahar. Geographically, Gwadar is a naturally deeper port compared to Chabahar.

How do you define like? There are only interests, not your childish liking OK boy. Grow up. Europeans like Iran because they can sell their goods without facing American competition. Their financial institution also get to launder Iranian oil money. Understand?

You have a habit of making tall claims and playing the Minister of global defense, trade and everything else on these forums. There are no sanctions globally that will be in place with Iran if they follow the Nuclear deal/agreement. Most of them are lifted. The only one, at worst will be U.S. sanctions which itself will be weak because the Europeans will not follow trump.

Gwadar has huge security implications and frankly, all it will be used for is to transport Chinese goods to other countries. And from what I'm reading, that security issue is not getting much better. How much longer before China abandons Gawadr like they abandoned other big investments in this part of Pakistan previously and starts using Chabbar, I wonder.

For a guy who claims to be educating us, your claim that China will link Chabahar to Gawdar is hilariously naive. You think the Iranians would give away earning billions in trade going through them to Asia and Europe to give up or share with the Chinese.

And to answer your question: I define 'like' as in trade friendly. As soon the last sanctions were removed, Europeans jumped to do business with Iran and so did India and Russians and Central Asia and...well you get the picture.

@SOHEIL @Serpentine @mohsen @AmirPatriot your thoughts on this chinese fella's claims. Nice to get information about some of his tall claims about your port and what China will make Iran do.

You are naive to think this is just about nuclear. The Arabs and Israelis are using their puppet Trump to reimpose sanction, even now with sanction 'officially lifted', no MNC is willing to take the risk to invest. Why do you think India cannot get European crane supplier for Chabahar? Iran will never be a node in the main shipping routes, Gwadar however has a chance to be

I can't deny the fact there are security issues in Gwadar, but I believe China already did a risk assessment before deciding to invest there. And what makes you think the Balochis are not in Chabahar? So which investment did we abandon in Gwadar or Pakistan for that matter? Care to enlighten me?:enjoy:

I guess the Iranians are naive too?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:. Why give up earning billions? Why not earn billions together?:enjoy:. Chabahar can complement OBOR, and India will be the goondu funding it.

Sure sure, for a minute there, I was pretty sure you meant 'LIKE' as in FB like.. Not only did Europeans and India, etc poured in, China poured in too, nothing wrong at all. The difference lies in the risk, Chinese investments would still be intact if Trump decides to screw it up. The same cannot be said about the Europeans though. Do you know what is happening now, the Europeans are freezing investments because of this uncertainty. MNCs will never make Chabahar their hub for shipping, it's just common sense. Btw, the China-Iran relationship is even stronger and important for Iran than India. You do know it right? Or you think they LIKE India?:rofl::rofl:

You seem to think trumps the leader of Europe, Central Asia, India , Russia. LOL

Trump's Saudi sanctions won't work if it ever gets put back in again. None of the other parties will adhere to it this time. We made a deal and agreement and if Iran keeps getting certified as being good on their part. There will be no global sanctions!

Firstly, due to historic reasons, the Eu had always been under American pressure. Tell me the logic a US court can sanction an EU company from trading in Iran but the EU court cannot do the same to an American company? US influence is mostly the GCC states, Western Europe and North Asia. I don't think they control Russia or the CAR. India is the latest addition to their pet list tho'.

Trump's Saudi sponsored Iranian sanction you mean? I can't predict the future, but the mere possibility is now strangling the Iranians and also Chabahar.

dont supa pawa india have own big company and peoples which as per sushma India has given to the world:D to do the job?

@Han Warrior we were discussing security at China's Gawdar port and surrounding region yesterday. Last week or so was a major attack and again in today's news from the English language Pakistani media. Five injured in blast targeting passenger train in Bolan, Balochistan

Chabbar hands down does not face the same risks and is more secure.
https://www.voanews.com/a/pakistani-militants-kill-border-guards-iran-media-report/3827080.html

You do know they are fighting for a separate Balochistan and that includes the Iranian portion right? I had never said Gwadar was risk free, but I am refuting your statement that Chabahar is not risky at all. China invested after careful planning and assessment, and with proper security measures, the only part which matters is the port compound and vicinity, not a big area to secure since we are not colonizing Gwadar, we are only leasing the ports. Attacking Gwadar port armed with Chinese and Pakistani soldiers is a dumb venture, if I was the terrorist I would aim for civilian targets like a train or something. Even the Chinese citizens who got killed were Christian evangelist working for a Korean church and believe me these Korean Churches are fanatics to the core, the risk they take by proselytizing in Pakistan is crazy. Other than that, no Chinese soldier would venture out of a guarded secured naval base compound.
