GTRE new engine tender

. .
The blade profiles are pretty much same as that of any Gas turbine (in power generation) blades. I've seen BHEL manufacture these blades and as far as manufacturing on CNC is concerned, that i'm pretty sure is not a problem. The issue could be the material (titanium alloys, nickel alloys etc). But considering that Indian industry does have a manufacturing base (albeit limited) it is only a matter of time before Single Crystal blades are being manufactured locally.

DRDO

Design and development of three stage 5:1 pressure ratio all Blisk fan for 75/110 kN thrust class engine.

Mass flow rate 85-87 kg/s

Pressure Ratio 4.8-5.0

Isentropic efficiency 83-84%

For comparison KAVERI LP compressor

Three-stage axial flow low pressure (LP) compressor,
flow rate of 78 kg/s,
pressure ratio of 3.4,
isentropic efficiency of 85 per cent;

According to aviationweek
MTOW of AMCA-20t=196.133kn
T.W.R at full afterburner=110*2/196.133=1.12
T.W.R at dry thrust=.76

is there any possibility of supercruise using these power-plants?

:no::no::no:
nice try but here......
power of engine is 75kn. So approximate ~8400kg of thrust.
while 2 engines....
so total thrust.....8400*2=16800kg,
while 20 ton is MTOW not combat weight, so combat weight will be little low (~16t) so by dry thrust it have 1+ TWR (same as LCA).
Supercruise also depend upon a/c aerodynamic, let us see what DRDO can do this time.
GTWE also put 5% upgrade possibility.......... I think AMCA will esily cross the criteria of super cruise.

IMO,ADA has chosen trapezoidal wings to It enhances supercruise at same or lower thrust and able to increase the margin.

AMCA looks perfectly compatible for supercruise flight.

If you guys capable of making a AL31, then Kaveri won't be a failed project.

. .
HAL assemble as well as manufacture few parts of Al31, while few are imported from Russia. hope you guys understand.
You don't have the core technology to build a engine, am I right?

I was talking about drag produces by fighters, which include whole airframe of a/c.:agree:
You can see LCA's TWR is equal to Rafale/typhoon while these 2 claims for supercruise while LCA:disagree:

You are wright, I think HAL imported core of Al31 from Russia, but as you initial claim that HAL doesn't produce blades is baseless.
Although we developed core tech for Kveri & it is working but its too inferior compare than modern jet engines. Thats why now we are using M88 core & redesign Kaveri hope that will thrust worthy.

.
I don't think Dassault will transfer you the core tech to
Build a turbo fan engine. It's the most important part of a nation's interest, no one will transfer it for money.

There is SCB technology available in India now but GTRE has not asked for it since right now their task is to perfect the kaveri with DS blades for HP and change current DS blades in LP to equiaxed to reduce vibration and fly it to make a reliable engine.

Once that is done they will start engine with SCB. But since they couldn't do it till now they will want a international partner to be there to reduce the time frame. Now this is golden opportunity for international firms to work with GTRE or Indian companies and develop a consortium for engines and reap benefit through out on all engines cos with or without them we will do it. All of the engine manufaturers know that we have developed SCB and almost all issues of Kaveri right now sorted out.
