Govt ready to meet all IMF demands to revive loan programme

Time to do a land reform, like what India did in 1950-60. No huge land ownership and Vadrea-type peoples. Control of elites will come down in one shot.

Richest 1% own 40.5% of India's wealth, says new Oxfam report

In Pakistan its 9%. There is no comparison, India is on whole other level of inequality.

Reports like Oxfam are the biggest bullshit one can write using statistics. This report claims that the analysis of 'Selective goods' (mostly consumption goods) GST shows that 70% of GST is contributed by 'poor' people.

Who in the hell checks the salary slip while selling the products? Also, there are no corresponding indicators which point to who is purchasing the products.

So enjoy this amazing report proving - Lies, White lies, and statistics order.

Real inflation is clocking near 100%.

Chicken almost at 600, which used to be at around 350-400.
Fresh milk at 160 (225+ for bottled, used to be 170ish)
Bread 160+, used to be at 100ish

Monthly groceries now get done at around 40K, used to be at around 20-25K
Petrol monthly expense now at 15K, used to be at around 7-8K

Painful as all that surely is, Pakistanis must get used to the idea of a free floating currency value based on productivity, and to pay the actual cost of energy that is not subsidized. Only then can it hope to start putting its books in order. There is no other way. The IMF is not the villain here. What it suggests is what needs to be done according to sound financial principles.

Best case scenario is, if PTI wins next elections, to follow through with the IMF suggestions AND more necessary structural reforms.

Keep the blame on the IMF negotiation and pdm government.

Good luck with that. Vaderas and industrialists themselves are the ones sitting in the legislature

اور کس چیز پر ٹیکس دیں ؟
ہوا چھوڑنے پر
سانس لینے پر
باتھ روم جانے پر ؟
Well, all three of these are adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere so you can consider these taxes like the carbon tax :D

That was siasi Shahadat, aur shaheed kabhi marta nahi.

Yeah, in Pakistan, the siasi shaheeds live forever - but only after they are assassinated (or attempted to be). :D

Laton kay bhoot baton say nahi maantay...only the financial dunda works.

what IMF need more ? anything left ?
We have never completed an IMF program, ever! That should tell you how much we give. For good or bad that is why the economy is always sputtering.

Some Pakistani experts, from time to time after waking up from their siestas, claim IMF program isn't good for Pakistan, however they are always short on alternates to IMF.
