I wouldn't care if a Pakistani hindu or Christian was advising but Qadianis are definite no no. People who's goal is to change Islam should never get near a position of power or have any influence at all in government. Seeing the tweets people have shared from his twitter feed on this thread, no wonder people opposed him and no wonder people are so against Qadianis reaching any position of power.

This says more about the incompetency about some of the officials in Imran's party than anything else though. How did they ever think this would go down well? Imran already mentioned his name once before in a speech and there was so much backlash. Does this man not learn from his mistakes?

They already do. You just touch their sensitivities and they'll give you a nice dose of their 'open mindedness'. Just deny holocast or talk against homosexuality and then see if you can occupy a powerful position in their government based on mere merit.

It's ridiculous that they have the right to be sensitive about their freedom to do something as filthy as having sex with the same gender and we are extremists and backwards for being sensitive about the finality and honor of our Prophet SW.

Tum log zehni ghulam ho. Tumhara koi elaaj nahi hai. Rotay raho hamari taraf se hamesha. Tum se behas se behtar hai banda bhens kay agay been bajaye.

So true, well said bro. If a muslim actively was anti-LGBT or outwardly really anti-Israel etc... He would never reach a position of influence in Europe even if he was the most talented person in his field. They would be pressured to resign or state that they are sorry for beliefs and they were wrong. I mean I'm not moaning, their country so they can appoint whoever they like but that is the truth.

This man can always apply for a position the Isreali armed forces; they'll happily accept him. He'll find many of fellow brethren there.

What has honor of prophet to do with Pakistan economic policies .. Only idiots with pea size brains will think about it.

Not true bro, they're not idiots at all. It is very naive to welcome with open arms someone who wants to change your religion. Such people should never come near power or influence (regardless of department) because sooner of later they will use that position to further their own agenda and Qadianis they never stop trying to force Muslims to accept that the Prophet (pbuh) wasn't the last prophet.

When you look for better scientists, economists, educationist then you look for skills and qualification of people in these fields. Religion become irrelevant in science and economics. We should not kill merit to appease religious bigots out there. What next? Sunni should demand no Shia in any job because Shia abuse caliphas and wife of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) and consider their imams as infallible people

We Pakistani feel proud when british born Pakistani Muslim beccome mayor or home secretary in UK but we love to discriminate others because of their religious beliefs. If we demand fairness from non muslims then we should treat others with fairness as well.

Well I'm not sure about Pakistanis back in Pakistan. But many (if not most) UK Pakistanis view people like Sajid Javaad with extreme distrust, I personally never come across a UK pakistani who has liked him because Sajid Javaad is pretty much a gora in a Pakistanis body and has views like being very pro Israel which put him at odds with other Muslims.

Sadiq Khan whilst slightly better, has his own major flaws such as going out to LGBT parades and the like.

These kinds of people are not someone we should be proud of. They have sold themselves and their values and their principles for a temporary power. Anyway who sells their own morals and takes on western ones can become a politician in England. Sure it takes talent to reach a good position but it is not good to be proud of people like this just because because 40 years ago their father migrated from the same country as yours.

No Muslim who is outwardly practicing and actively reveals his views on issues like LGBT or Qadianis or any other issues which the west takes an alternative position on, they would never be able to get into government. We need to stop thinking that the west is all about equal opportunity in everything because that is not true bro.

Every country has an 'establishment', some stronger and more effective than others. These establishments recruit who perfectly 'fit' their ideology and agendas. The mear notion that merit is enough is preposterous. Point being, why should Pakistan be any different?

No doubt Atif if a brilliant person but he stopped being the "best man for the job" the moment his religion became the source of negative attention, hate and blackmail by our rabid fundamentalist nutjob community sitting in powerful positions. Given his professional background I would have loved to see him in the role, but lets face the fact that our Mullah parties and their allies would have thrown obstacle after obstacle toward him and PTI.

This is not IKs fault. He tried and failed at this particular venture, but we all know that he does not give up on his goals.

Saying that, the Imran Khan bashers really are the most pathetic lot of this sorry scenario. Either you are completely ignorant of the political realities in Pakistan and the power these Mullahs hold or you are straight up morons.

Either some Pakistanians on here have low IQs which could to some extent explain the current predicament of their country, or they are playing the GAME, against Pakistan and its majority.

Absolute quality dont exist in any part of the world but still you have justice system in there which treat everyone equally . You get opportunity of better education, work , health care irrespective of your beliefs. You have freedom of religion amd even tabligi people from Pakistan get visa to preach Islam in UK. You get nationality and access to welfare system irrespective of your beliefs and now compare this with middle east and how arab treat others Muslim from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Sajid or sadiq khan might not be perfect Muslims for you but they had father who was bus driver and they still got this opportunity of education and to be in UK politics and getting this senior position instead of someone shutting door of education or politics for them because of their race, origin or beliefs etc. I am sure you would not like it if someone discriminate against you because of your beliefs . When you apply for Job then you expect from your employer to look at your qualification and experience and you dont mention your religious beliefs in CV. Do you?

They are hesitant to bail out Pakistani economy in the light of CPEC-oriented loans. Nothing else.

Have you ever applied for loan in a bank? They will inquire about your other loans (if you have taken any) because they want to assess your capacity for repayments and what kind of obligations you are under. This is SOP of lending business.

IMF will want to know everything loan-related, if approached for bail out = SOP.

As I pointed out earlier, you see a conspiracy in everything.

You have made a good assessment of this whole situation. The problem is people here don't realise the ground reality and live in a loop of disinformation. The politics in Pakistan are not that simple.

Yes and we don't want to tell IMF/USA about our deal with China. Atif Mian was asking the same question which USA was asking and even before he was anti-china and pro western economic policies. Pakistan has used pro western economic policy for 70 years and we got nothing but loss from that so it is time to get some one from Chinese school of economics.

I ask again:

Do you have an example of another large strategic project where all details were released to public at the onset?
Pakistani state should not disclose CPEC-related details to potential economic advisors either? How would they address Pakistani economic situation in the absence of a chunk of data?

Public should know what is happening in the name of CPEC to large extent (many are already aware through relevant contacts). How would people extract benefits from CPEC if they are kept in the dark?

Potential investors want to see financial disclosures before they decide to invest in a project. You haven't studied Accounting?
