Now coming back to merits I can name 100 people more qualified than Atif Mian for this job.
Really?

Now one more thing the actual mistake of Atif Mian was not being Ahmadi but he was asking too many questions about CPEC which some people don't like.
CPEC cannot be overlooked in consultations about economic matters. How a panel of experts will fix balance of payment problems while ignoring the aspect of loans in all forms? Not possible.

Either trust the judgement of Pakistani experts or knock on the door of IMF.

I will prepare them for you. Just one question why was he asking question about CPEC.

Sorry he was asking the same questions which Americans were asking I have only this objection against him. I am fine with him being Ahmadi.

So this guy would have proposed more IMF loans to build infra instead?

More I read his tweets, more I am thankful that he's not in the council anymore.

Either trust the judgement of Pakistani experts or knock on the door of IMF.

or Trust the judgement of such experts to knock on the door of IMF!

Yes just let's ignore he is Ahmadi and try to judge him he is asking the same questions which USA was asking about CPEC why?

I support Ahmadis as Pakistanis but I cannot tolerate this. I tried to research on him. He has some interesting taste.

Cowards I'll tell you. Shias and Ismaelis belief are not far off when it comes to being non-muslim but state will never touch them and neither mullahs will give fatwas. They rather target 0.01% of population.

Why not request China to bail out Pakistan then? Why even bother to establish an economic advisory body?

Really?

CPEC is between Pakistan and China no one else can intervene on it.

You need to find out who recommended him for a role in the council.

Why shouldn't anyone ask questions about CPEC considering it can worsen Pakistan's situation.

His point was about improving domestic productivity which is artificially being increased by CPEC and it's not a long term solution.

There is something called the Chinese debt trap, which Pakistan has to be careful of.

It is a bad decision to ask him to step down, but a worse decision to have hired him in the first place. Not because he is a Qadiyani. But because the government should have known that they would not be able to withstand pressure from those who were going to exploit the situation against the government. They had already seen what happened the last time IK mentioned Atif Mian. They should have anticipated this.

There would have been absolutely no controversy whatsoever if they hadn't hired him in the first place. But now they are seen as having buckled under pressure from the opposition, thus showing their own weakness and emboldening the opposition. They have disappointed a large section of their support base (the more "liberal"), and alienated the minority communities (not just the Qadiyanis). All in all, this was a mistake.

Atif Mian's qualifications and expertise in this whole affair have become almost irrelevant.

Why not request China to bail out Pakistan then? Why even bother to establish an economic advisory body?

We don't need to ask China. As for this expert, ask him how he calculated the loan jumping to $90b (up $30bn) just by CPEC? From where did he pluck a $30bn CPEC loan figure from?

Economic advisory body is to set the policy framework for industrial and agriculture growth. It is not formed to ONLY deal with loans!

Then Pakistan should discuss its balance-of-payment problems with China only because China is single greatest cause of trade deficit and also the largest lender to our country.

An independent economic advisory body and/or institution will be ineffective.

Yes I will dig that. I was deeply sad when Imran Khan fired him because he was from a minority. Imran Khan could have kept him on the council for symbolic reasons but then I started researching on him. This man has some serious issues with Chinese loans and likes IMF Loans.

Please don't push your luck in this issue you are on the wrong side Pakistan considers China as brothers and USA as ex-girlfriend

Firstly, I have nothing against him because of his personal beliefs as he is responsible for his own deeds. I was reading his tweets though and they are all about possibilities of how the last government's decisions could be bad in stead of if they really were. Venom throwing seems to be at full throttle. I think now is really the time to let bygones be bygones and do whats the best for country. Any time we waste in criticism of last government's doing will incur opportunity cost for things we could have done with that time.
