Excellent.

Why bring politics in drugs, if India agrees today we will happily play a cricket series with India but we will not buy raw material for life saving drugs from on pretext of politics. how strange!!

It's not about politics bro, it's a matter of national security and pride. Our companies have not been able to fill the gap, not because of technological limitations (I am strictly talking about production/manufacturing, we are far behind in innovation and research) in production of generic unlicenced medication, but because of economic viability, when such medication are allowed to be imported duty free.

In short we are denying our industry economy of scale, which is critical in bringing down cost per unit production.

In the short term it will be difficult, but if sustained can be very positive for our industry. Their is always a lag period.
