Government to replace contempt of court ordinance with new law

Islamabad: The government has decided to abolish the contempt of court ordinance and replace it with new legislation. Geo News has received a copy of the new contempt of court draft bill.

Under the new draft bill, the President, Prime Minister, Ministers and Chief Ministers will be immune from contempt of court proceedings under article 284-1 of the constitution.

The draft bill also states that criticism of court orders if made in the appropriate language would not be contempt of court.

The court should knock down all those laws and force all people who hold office in Pakistan to surrender their second citizenship like it should be.

This is exactly what Zardari wants... Conflict !!

Zardari won't be able to sell that to people though.. days of becoming political martyr is long gone. People are clever enough to understand what his politics is all about. It's just the short term gain he is looking for. Bhutto's PPP is just becoming a laughing stalk. As long as he is safe.. who gives a damn about the party or people...

This duel nationals or people holding permanent residence-ship in another country shouldn't be allowed to hold any kinda govt offices at all. Ex Pakistani PM Shaukat Aziz is a classic example. I don't think he ever returned to Pakistan once they lost the last general election. That's alone is proof enough to know where these kinda people's loyalty lies.

Supreme court can declare an amendment ultra-vires .. Dont know if Court would like to take such a conflicting step. After all in Pakistan the same law was amended in the mid night...

What the ****, their can be no discriminatin in law. Laws shiould be the same for all. Laws are made for general welfare, conduct, administration not for personal benefit.
