Government firm on opposing dalit tag for converts

Good decision.... Any outside of Hinduism SC/ST are allowed to reap the fruit of reservations....
Please get yourself more educated about the SC/ST. While SCs belong only to Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikkhism the ST status is given based on their tribal upbringing. An ST could be a hindu or Christian or a muslim or of any other religion.

Well I call it master stroke by them for their intentions.......(I agree with it or not let us leave it for now).... Look at the context of the action and the reason behind it....
I repeat, "the BJP govt is pursuing the same line that was pursued by the earlier congress governments". You are free to pat your back.

.
Right decision........ and i would say a master stroke against conversion.....

 you mean you Hindus are hell bent on keeping Cast System by institutionalising it? And that the government of Hindu extremists can do anything to stop Hindus from getting out of Hindusim.

We are not institutionalizing the caste system. We are saying it is an evil practice which is present only in Hinduism.

Who is stopping anyone for converting. They converted to a "superior" religion which does not have "evil practice" of castesism. Since they converted to escape caste discrimination they can't expect to continue to benefit from reservation.

I looked little differently....... "Hindu Extremist" do not want to have caste system in other religions!!!! How about that????? Muslim Dalit, Christian Dalit, and HIndu dalit????? If The govt agree to keep them "dalit", the next blame on govt will be.... "Hindu Extremist" govt planning to bring caste system in other religion also

Institutionalizing????? What does that mean???? It has been there for ages...... and Lower caste have been provided special packages in every aspect of life.....

You are poorly informed or are letting your biases get the better of you. @Razia Sultana's post #16 makes it clear, this is a reservation given purely on caste and cannot logically be claimed by people subscribing to religions that do not have this distinction inherent. It was also pointed out that there is no institutional bias because religion is not a limiting factor in another reservation given on the basis of the tribe one belongs to - Scheduled Tribes.

Please remember that christians and muslims also are tax payers and their moneys are also involved in the welfare of the community.
I agree with the govt. that benefits meant for scheduled castes should not go to those whoare muslims or christians as the moment its known that they are muslims are christians, their previous castes becomes invalid unless they want to live with their roots. Things are more complicated but the idea behind reservation benefits to SCs are completely different and it should be stuck with that.

Majority tax payers ,that is indeed a problem.I wont trust those evangelists. In my state the prochristian
Finance minister exclusively fixed 5 crore Rs for 20 lakh converted Christians .You know what ,that was a quite an extra ordinary part because there was no such a allocation in our states budgrt history .
A counter movement for Ghar Wapsi.
This is acase in the so called high HDI Kerala. Then you can imagine thecase in the North India.
You should see the AP and Telangana you can understand.Theday when we twist the law for theiradvantage .A full scale conversion wil take place.Due to current circumstances conversion to Muslims is too low.But we cant say that about evangelists

And these issues are too sensitive in India.Arabs that funding Muslims groups have money and evangelists that funded by rich Wests also have money.

If we allow the same privileges to converts the money will again flow with multiple effects. And crisis will arise in this nation. We cant allow that.

Privileges only for oppressed Dharmic communities .Elimination of caste system and upliftment of SC /ST .

There is no caste system in Buddhism.May @Tshering22 can clear your doubt. But Buddhism also need protection. They are far less than others .
That is why I said Dharmic Communities.
I do support..but what about those Dalit groups, who are converting out of Hindu caste system to Buddhism??..Afterall Sree Buddha himself rejects caste system..

It won't affect much actually...Many even after convert to Christianity don't change their name or religion in government records like their SSLC certificates,ration/election IDs..They are still Hindus as per government and enjoying all other reservation benefits...Personally know many such cases in my locality..Missionary brains are miles ahead nowadays...

Its a jaundiced view.
In the last 67 years, the govt. never agreed to extend the SC benefits to non-hindus. was that too a master stroke against converson? It was only VP Singh who extended the reservation benefits rightly to the SCs who converted to Buddhism as nothing changed their social status except personal beliefs and they continued to be discriminated against. Now the BJP govt is pursuing the same line that was pursued by the earlier congress governments and you call it a master stroke.

Congress had it in their 2014 manifesto so i doubt their stand is same as that BJP's, sure they did put off taking a decision on the issue for long fearing backlash maybe

Foreign Funding is not just restricted to churches and Madrasas. VHP and other Hindu and Sikh organizations also receive huge sums from abroad and so also the political parties. All are indulging in corrupt practices so why blame only christians and muslims? No political party has either taxed or stopped or effectively regulate the flow of foreign funds because the biggest gainers are political parties.

Someone should expose such people to the local authorities.

Why bother? Isn't it people's choice whether to convert or not be it induced/coerced or by free will . Constitution guarantees freedom to proselytize, missionaries are just exploiting it

Many considers him as an avatar of Lord Vishnu and some not...Same in the case of 'Sabarimala Swamy Aiyyappan'..

WRONG again. Srimad Bhagavatam mentions Buddha as one of lord Vishnu's Dashaavatarm. Stop spreading rubbish.
