Gorakh Hill Station of Sindh,

In the Indian Deccan plateau, we do have such mountains but does not snow.

The reason is Sindh is farther north and away from the tropics. Deccan region, Bengal, Bihar etc fall close to equator and within the tropics. See the red line below.

All of Pakistan falls outside ( North ) of Tropic of Cancer line.

Hail, in such an huge amount? May be a mix of snow and hail?

Gorakh probably gets freezing rain... which can look white on the ground. But I doubt it ever gets the soft, gentle snow flakes like Murree...

BTW, I have a long interest in Gorakh Hill Station; you can look up my posts on it on Pakistaniat.com from, I think, 2006! I believe Sindh is waiting for a "Hill Station" of its own and I strongly believe it is economically very viable: Gone are the days of the infamous "Dakoos" (dacoits) in interior Sindh. GHS, despite the gross incompetence and corruption of Sindh govt. is already proving to be a success story. INVEST in the enterprise if you have the extra cash. The demand is huge--there are literally tens of millions in southern Pakistanis who would rather take a few hours of drive to cool-off from the damn SCORCHING and HUMID heat than to fly or take a very long drive to Murree and northern Pakistan.

PS. G.M.Sayyed--the former Sindhi separatist leader didn't like the idea of Gorakh as a Hill Station; to him Gorakh was too far south in latitude to be a true Hill Station for Sindh. I think he had preferred a place called 'Dhariyaro' (something like that) which has higher elevation and also has a decent plateau for a Hill Station. Also look up 'Kutte ji Qabar' (Dog's Grave) which, along with 'Koh i Benazir' are reputed to be the highest points in Sindh--much higher than Gorakh!

PPS. Even in my teen ages in Pakistan, I used to closely study the hills of Sindh in a 'Geological Atlas of Pakistan' gifted to me by an uncle.

Not sure it snows in Mt. Abu but its a gorgeous place! My ancestry is from Rajasthan and I still have close relatives there...not far from Mt. Abu... Been there a few times...

Gorakh cant much Murree or even Mt. Abu in scenery, water related beauty and greenery but Gorakh does provide a pretty place as relief from the SCORCHING heat of Sindh plains.... I'd invest in Gorakh tourism if had spare money!! There is a HUGE demand for such place in Sindh!
Oh a Rajhistani

Murree is nothing visit Neelum Valley to truely be mesmerized by the beauty of Kashmir

but vegetation is very sparse ~ ! interesting ! i was expecting more greenery !

Snow in Sindh. seems like an interesting place.
Any place 5000 ft. or more above the sea level is supposed to be cold enough to have snowfall.

Gorakh Hills have some problems such as the lack of accommodation facilities and security.
