What's new

gone loadshedding days - power surplus was 3196MW today

Sir aap ki sab baatain sahi but there is still load shedding and it will continue reason ?u mention all but forget the transmission lines lots of places dont even have it and in many parts its old faulty which always trip in case of load.Trying to find report on it someone publish few days ago

most of the newly laid out transmission lines are resulting in huge losses and the pure copper ones replaced have long been sold

but lets talk constructive.

most of the rural areas in Pakistan have no infrastructure for transmission.

but lets talk constructive.

the pre paid electric meter scam which failed in the 70s is failing before being implemented

but lets talk constructive.

while the government is insisting on greener Pakistan, coal and other fossil fuels are being used to produce electricity.

but lets talk constructive.

since there is hardly any industry working and ramadan always sees surplus.

but lets talk constructive.

follow the script and you be good.

So how is the power sector circular debt issue going? Resolved? Getting worse? Staying the same?
They are producing very expensive electricity , on top govt has to pay them set price under agreements sign by previous govt, otherwise they will take the govt to arbitration courts out of country , if govt buy or not or use the power or not.

So you’re saying that you want to wait for official numbers from the relevant institution before commenting on power generation and the issues related to power generation and transmission.

Fair enough.

because javed chowdary is neither an expert on fossil fuels, transmission losses nor power policy of Pakistan.

but lets talk constructive.

how do you think this was achieved specially after prices were hiked and government is crying for oil and gas reserves. i am all eyes ears and nose for your constructive contribution agnostic

All valid critiques of the power generation & transmission issues bedeviling Pakistan currently. Not sure why that was so hard for you and why you see offering ‘constructive criticism’ as ‘following a script’.

Most of the non-green power projects were either initiated/contracted before the PTI, so you can’t claim they’re responsible for that. Expanding transmission isn’t something that is going to occur instantly. We’ll have to wait and see what funds are available and how many rural households get electricity connections towards the end of the PTI government’s term.

do not delete my post. simple request buddy. try be tolerant for once in your life of others opinion or how they are.

Jut like the economy hasn't been ruined in 9 months by the PTI, the PTI isn't responsible for the surplus power generation either. Most of the projects were initiated in the years past.

The main issues now, like VCheng mentioned, are resolving the circular debt and reducing transmission losses. In terms of additional power generation, the focus needs to shift to hydro-power, especially projects that help with water storage.

Shahbaz Sharif said after care taker Government took over in 2018 that "We(PMLN) are not responsible for any load shedding after today"

If they had solved the energy crisis why would he say such a thing

Only agree with half the title. Yes there is surplus power, some of it due to PTI some due to previous government nets, but load shedding is far far from over. It’s still rampant due to energy theft which goes on daily, extremely bad energy distribution system and corruption within the authorities. The best example? No electricity 9 out of 12 hours here today. In Rawalpindi. Yay.
(Before people call me a Nooni or pee pee peer, I support the government of Pakistan. Not political parties, hence currently I wholeheartedly support PTI, just saying the issue isn’t over)

Now 45% growth Walay say how can he do this in just 9 months....?
Oh bhai yes exactly he can't do this in just 9 months so don't blame him for other issues as well as..... Let him have his tenure then Guage hin

What part of Rawalpindi? In our area we only face couple of hours load shedding if any.

True. Credit for this goes to Nawaz, although his term confluenced with CPEC which was driver for the new power stations. Thus as much as PTI can't be blamed for the economic mess after just being in power for 9 months, we can't on the other side credit PTI for the resolution of the power issue.

Credit goes to Mr Avenfield Sharif and Uighur Muslim genociders China.

power sector circular debt will rise if power available . people will steal power more hence more losses .

The lack of loadshedding during ramadhan is a good strategy to buy goodwill for the time being as a natural counter to the anxiety being caused by inflation as the deal with IMF is gradually opened up for implementation.

I predict we will be back to loadshedding in the winter as the unresolved issue of circular debt assumes even larger proportions given the lack of any effective action to counter its increase to date.

Screwing the national coffers is a team sport played to perfection by almost everyone, from top to bottom.

Around New lalazar. Used to be a few (2-3) hours a day before Ramadan. During Ramadan it’s been haphazard but an way more than 4-5 hours a day. And there are a lot of problems here due to the delivery system. In the 3 years I’ve lived here they’ve had to fix it 6 times or so.
