If you read what I posted I said all Punjabis are the same. And that includes Punjabi Hindus. Sindhi Hindus more similar to Sindhis then then they are with me. However do please enumerate the number of Hindu Punjabis/Hindu Sindhis? Let me know. thanks.

I don't think India does a census by ethnicity but they would probably be a minuscule number - especially the Sindhi Hindus.

That is what the Indians will tell you. That is what few in Pakistan will tell you.

Are they differant? Yes and No. Of course it';s not like on this side they have one eye and three legs and on other they have two eyes and four legs. Think of Chinese/Vietnam border. Think of Chinese/Indian border in Ladakh. On both sides you have Buddhist Tibetan peoples but that does not mean China and India are same?

Pakistan and India share one province called Punjab which is on both sides of the border. This has a line cutting through it based on religion. On both sides you have ethnic Punjabis differantiated by religion. Punjabi Muslim on Pakistan side and mostly Punjabi Sikh on Indian side. However only 2.5% of India is Punjabi. The other 97.5% is other ethnic groups which get more divergent from Pakistan further east/south you move into India from the border.

Punjabi Muslim - Make about 50% of Pakistan
Punjabi Sikh - Make about 2.5% of India.

The two Punjabs that were divided in 1947. Lahore is capital of Pakistani Punjab province. Amritsar is Sikh holy city in Indian Punjab with border inbetween.

The Punjab in Pakistan dominates the country at 50% of the population as one province with four province federation. The Indian Punjab is tiny part of India at just about 2.5% of the population. The map below contextualizes Indian Punjab [red] as one state within rest of the 29 Indian states union.

Hoewever don't let 2.5% hide the reality. Indian Punjabi Sikhs make big chunk of Indian Army and play a role in India far, far greater than their number suggests. So the Indian Punjabi Sikhs make a bigger part of the Indian ethnic mosaic at least at the public/popular perception then their numbers would suggest. I suppose a crude analogy might be Jews in America who despite being a tiny minority make big impact on the public scene.

Here below is Indian Punjab within other 29 Indian states.

I hope this answers your question. Just as a sidenote if you look at the Pakistan ethnic group map [first top] you will notice the Baloch carry over into Iran. The Pakhtuns carry over into Afghanistan. The Punjabi Muslims carry over into India as Punjabi Sikhs. Only Sindhis are restricted within Pakistan.

Let me tell you , indian punjab is 59% sikh and 38% hindu . Those Hindus are also Punjabi.

If you take the older Punjab that comprised of Punjab, Hariyana and Himachal , the hindu punjabi would be above 50% of total punjabi population .

All of the migrants those came from pakistani punjab during partiton , hindu punjabis were slightly more numerous than sikh punjabis .


The man in you see in the first clip was Hindu punjabi from pakistan and his name was Krisna kumar khanna. This man like most of the Hindu migrants from are settled in Delhi .

Then there were Sihdhi hindus who migrated from Sindh and now settled in various india states and more dispersed than punjabi hindu migrants who basically stays in Delhi or Punjab/Hariyana . Top BJP leader LK Advani is Sindhi migrant from Karachi .

Talking about similarities , Pakistan shares borders with Indian state of Jammu and kashmir , Punjab, Rajastan and Gujurat , total population of these states would nearly equal to Pakistan .

In Punjab and Sindh they pretty much are the same people.

1947 saw violence both in Punjab and Bengal. Those who lived through it suffer from stress disorders only comparable to that of War.

What is usually understood as religion, is where most people make the mistake. Pakistanis, being Muslim, follow Islam and Islam is NOT a religion as per conventional definition. Rather it is a way of life, one which is fundamentally and explicitly different from hinduism. In fact, there is a plethora of Islamic traditions, language, customs and practices that indians follow and in utter ignorance proclaim them to be indian or hindu culture. So yes, Faith and not religion, is what sets Pakistanis and indians apart.

Besides that, Pakistanis are different from indians ethnically and culturally. People tend to forget that the land the British named "British-India" never existed at any other point in the annals of history. Before illegally took over the region, there existed the Mughal Empire. The Mughals, a hybrid race that stems from Turkic-Mongoloid-Persian stock, dominated and had managed to govern a significant part of what is modern day india, under it's rule and writ.

What people also tend to conveniently forget is that Islam has been the dominant power in the region for 1000 years. Be that the dominant power were either ethnic Persian, Turkic, Mongol or even Pukhtun. Pakistan being the region closest in the path of all named ethnic powers that dominated the region, have a closer affinity to the latter, than modern day india and it's people.

Set aside ethnicity, culture or nationality, what truly sets Pakistanis from indians, apart is and will always be ISLAM. Dare if any Pakistani ever forget this, remember that Allah Subhanahu Wata'aalah created you and HE can just as easily wipe you out of existence. So my dear Pakistanis, shed you petty squabbles, hubris, arrogance and deviant behavior .... stand firm in your Imaan and fight for your dignity and honor as a Muslim. As for the neighbor in the East, we invite you to Islam and wage our struggle for Imaan. If you choose not to accept our invitation, then you go your way and we go our's.
