GoI compels Kashmiri youth to pick up stones: Dal Khalsa
Reacting strongly to Modi''s ‘outreach to Kashmiri people’ in his speech, party head Harpal Singh Cheema, in a statement today, termed PM''s statement nothing but playing to the gallery besides ‘misleading international community.’

Dal Khalsa today asked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explain as to who is responsible for compelling the Kashmiri youth to pick up the stones instead of laptops and books.
Reacting strongly to Modi's ‘outreach to Kashmiri people’ in his speech, party head Harpal Singh Cheema, in a statement today, termed PM's statement nothing but playing to the gallery besides ‘misleading international community.’
He further said contrary to the claims of PM, “it is the Union of India that has crushed the dreams of Kashimiri people, snatched laptops from hands of its young generation and forced them to pick up stones in their fight for rights, land and dignity.”
Cheema added that the successive governments at Centre and “its stooges in the state have worsened the situation either by deceit or brute force.”
He said words Insaniyat and Jamhuriyat sound good but “have hollow meaning when spoken by Indian leaders as they had a record of deceit and betrayal.”
The Sikh leader said it is ironic that the Prime Minister took more than one month to break his silence after 55 deaths, 5500 injured and 150 rendered blind with pellets.
