Inside Kashmir's lockdown: 'Even I will pick up a gun'. BBC

Well. No country ever stood with Pakistan, on Kashmir issue. Pakistan to date has fought this war alone. So, it is nothing, that is new.

It is time to await, while taking certain necessary measures, which Pakistan is taking. Reaction of Kashmiris would determine the fate.

Thank you for stating the basic fact and for capturing the exact situation. More fundamentally, even as BJP and India's right rejoices, in the medium to long term, they themselves have delivered the ultimate coupe de grace to India's secular credentials thus amplifying the validity of two nation theory. To be very frank, in the past, Pakistan did the heavy lifting to support the Kashmiris. With such actions, Kashmiris themselves are going to do that now and obviously Pakistan will assist.

India has made its move, now Pakistan has the time and space to calibrate and make its moves. Its actually fascinating to see all the neo-liberal journalists in Pakistan throwing in the towel as if India's move is fait accompli. The reality is as the Americans say, "It ain't over till the fat lady sings."

Pakistan needs to garner more courage than to meekly surrender specially when it has quite a few options. However, NONE of the options involve support from anyone. It will all have to be done by Pakistan alone. I am actually at a loss when I see this "throw in the towel" mindset given countries like Iran, North Korea and even Turkey have weathered far, far worse all by themselves but have stayed on point with their stand. For a country with 200M people, a resilient economy, food security and boasting capabilities that can destroy any near adversary, this meek surrender of the mindset is just staggering.

Excellent analysis. Keep it repeating.

Pakistan can keep smiling with such reports, but my country did operation Blue Star, liberation of present day Bangladesh. come what in our way, we sail through this just like all the time and u keep making gestures and then move on.

You are mistaken. The Kashmiri people are in a lock down situation and also processing the new situation.

Just give it some time. Once the Indian bullying is over, we will see the true reaction.

Pakistan won't have to lift a finger. Modi has made it very easy for us. Your concern are angry Kashmiris.

After 70 years of brutalities, finally BBC arriving in Kashmir and not even talking about it's history and mass graves?
India definitely have the blessings of state sponsored western press.

The Brits are cunning fvcks. They fully know they are the main architect of this aweful situation. Had Kashmir been properly dealt with during colonial era we wouldn't even be in this ugly situation today.

Having said that, the world is eventually going to feel the brunt of Pak India war. Make no mistake. A war between India and Pakistan is a matter of time.

The war will come to Pakistan. Pakistan won't initiate.

Those who are surrendering won't have a choice.

The UN ceasefire treaty worked heavily in Pakistan’s favour, but the circumstances then are very different to now. India’s economy has greatly overtaken Pakistan since and the region is heavily fortified. India is hardly in a state of panic, this is what they have been planning for decades.

What does it say when a nation run for international mediation right bang in the middle of war? It was India which went running to UN for intervention during Kashmir war of 1948, not Pakistan. Your rants are not supported by historical facts.

Back in 48, we were in a complete mess, a new country, hardly any military, had to rely on our tribal citizens to come to aid of regulars in fighting the Indians .

Now, we are military might. Indian economy, how big or small it is does not matter, what matter are the facts, and the fact is that in February Pakistan military spanked India bang in the middle of day , dropped bombs around Indian army chief barrack, shot down Indian jets, impose no fly zone over Indian control territory during the time of operation, and the result was India waving a missile Pakistan used on them, as a used condom and complaining to yanks. And that was all about Indian protest.

India is panicking because she feels that there is some sort of deal going on between Trump and IK over Afghanistan , in relation to Kashmir.

Can india mobilize a 200 million strong army even with all this wealth and huge economy???

One word: Afghanistan!

The Indians didn't expect to be defeated and kicked out of Afghanistan in such a humiliating way. This is India's attempt at trying to get some sort of say in Afghanistan during and after the U.S. withdrawal.

Peace in Afghanistan is death for India. If anything Indians can hope to achieve, it is to somehow coerce or beg the USA to stay in Afghanistan. Other than sending +3000K Indian soldiers to Afghanistan, I don't see how the USA will listen to Indian requests.

Again, don't lose focus. All of this is happening due to Indians being kicked out of Afghanistan.
