A day ago a 15 years old girl was gang raped by 6-8 men in Lahore.

A girl has filed a police complaint alleging she was gang-raped by three army personnel in a running train on Monday, police said.
Police said they have arrested one army man, and the others will be arrested soon.
The girl was travelling in the Howrah-Amritsar express train. She had boarded the army compartment in the train at Howrah and was on her way to Ludhiana to meet a friend.

According to the police complaint, the girl said she was offered liquor by the army men, and three personnel raped her when she was drunk.

The girl got down from the train at Madhupur station in Deoghar district of Jharkhand on Monday and informed railway police, who arrested one army man.

There was, however, no comment from the army about the incident.
Police said a medical test will be conducted on the girl to ascertain rape.

On December 20, two girls were gang-raped in the Jharkhand capital. Four youths were arrested on Monday in the case.

Jharkhand has witnessed a surge in crimes against women. The number of kidnapping and rape cases this year till August stood at 996 and 1,261 respectively, up from 792 and 905 during the same period in 2014.

From what I can read- there seems certain inconsistencies-

#1- The train-

There are two trains running between Howarh and Amritsar- one starts around 2pm and reaches Madhupur in 6 hours by 8pm and the other starts at 7pm and reaches madhupur by 11pm- so the 1st train gives 6 hours of travel and the 2nd gives 4 hours Howrah to Madhupur is 280km- and is goes through the busiest sections of Indian railways East zone- so the time frame to commit the crime- i.e. getting the girl drunk and 3 men raping her would be needed to be done in time frame of 2-3 hours in 1st train which happens to pass through peak passenger hours in the route consisting of major railway stations- for 2nd train the time window is 1 hour to 30 min but crime can be done easier as passenger rush during its time frame is lower-

The time window for crime is suspiciously low- unless some rape drug was used along with alcohol but then that would mean the recovery time to be far higher-

#2- The coach-

Military coach in these trains are General bogies reserved for military people generally no ticket collector enter the bogie and the girl did a punishable offense by fine/jail term by traveling in that compartment- Now general bogies are highly uncomfortable and made for sitting only- journey to Ludhiana takes 40+ hours by 1st train and 30+ hours by 2nd train- It is highly unlikely a girl would travel in such long period in such condition- or her family letting her travel like that without reserved ticket of AC sleeper coach or even Non-AC sleeper coach- She could be hiding some thing here about her travel destination-

Now It is well known fact that military coach will have only men and no girl or women would travel alone in men only compartment- But then If she did rape cannot be ruled out as army men are only humans and may commit the crime- also it is highly advised by railways not to share eatables or drinks with strangers on train as it may be used to make one unconscious and rob them of their belongings-

#3- Jharkhand-

Jharkhand cannot be held responsible for a crime committed on train passing from Jharkhand by people who don't belong to Jharkhand-

To me, the strange part is that there is no comment from Indian army. Even just for PR's sake, army should step in swiftly, squeeze the truth out of the only captured man and hunt down the rest if confirmed. Once confirmed, they should be court marshaled and probably executed quickly after conviction. To my experience, military law is usually much harsher than regular law.
