What's new

Generations of Biharis were born here; we’ve to do something for them: PM Hasina

@lastofthepatriots

I've torn up two drafts. You raised some valid points under that really irritating verbiage. I think you deserve a carefully thought through answer. Give me some time.

It has increased a thousand-fold in recent years. The Bihari mafia has moved in big time from Patna and from Dhanbad.

My point is simply that they spat in our faces and walked away. Let them go to Pakistan; let Pakistan make arrangements for them. Even today, if you ask them, none of them will even talk decently about India. Can they expect India to take them back?

Exactly my point.

They didn't like it in India, in Bihar. Now they don't like it in Bangladesh. So what do they like?
West Indies . It’s like everyone’s heritage is from Bihar here
Lol

Every pak rants rave about these stranded paks in Bangladesh...

Also why doesn't our government pressure pak for bengali rights in pak? These bengalis had no part in the war and moved to Pakistan in 50's and 60's. Today they have no access to health care or medicine or education. They live in miserable conditions and face rampant discrimination in Pakistan
Bengalis in Pakistan that have not yet been given citizenship are post 1971 migrants.

By 1995, continuous migration of Bangladeshis crossed the 2,500,000 mark. During the administration of Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, some top advisers became concerned with the large Bangladeshi migrant population, afraid they could become the second largest group in Karachi after Urdu-speaking Muhajir people and disturb sensitive demographics. Accordingly, Bhutto ordered a crackdown and deportation on Bangladeshi immigrants. Benazir Bhutto's action strained and created tensions in Bangladesh–Pakistan relations, with Khaleda Zia, who was in power in Dhaka during the time, refusing to accept the deportees and reportedly sending two planeloads back towards Pakistan and Muslim political parties in Pakistan criticising Bhutto and dubbing the crackdown as anti-Islamic. She was ultimately forced to abandon the order.[4][5]

Argument is cause Pakistanis are good people we took in everyone from Tajiks, hazaras, African refugees, migrants and their communities in most major cities, Iraqis, Iranians after shah, Bangladeshis migrants , bosnians, UP/Bihari people after partition, very big rohingya pop probably bigger than India even though we are not even Their neighbors are 1000s of miles aways , south indian Muslim communities are also here for decades thats pretty much 10-30s of millions of people in a country of just 220 people people
compare that to other countries, look at BSF and their brutality of hanging little girls on poles, look at Iranians and their shoot on arrival killing spree against Afghans -who speak their language, Greeks and Turks notorious brutality

But literal demonization of our people is second to none -some guy called us Nazis, other guy said some other shit (post in similar nature )
There'll always be racism and crap talk Turkish call it's Iranians gypsies or something, Europeans call Turks some other slurs, while Russians, slavs are racist towards other Europeans
This is human nature especially among similar groups
but yall demonize us way too much from news to government to people, a Pakistani student was brutally beaten in Bangladesh just because of who he is, some minister saying Pak flag shouldn't fly in Bangladesh, Biharis are still hated, everyone demonizes even though its stupid and cringe- You have been independent for 50 years and are 1000s of miles away, Most in young Pakistan don't even know Bangladesh except for being a brother Muslim country who plays cricket, No one talks about about Bangladesh

Exact opposite is the case in Bangladesh, every thread turns into RR session against India for current issues and Pakistan for historical issues

Lets acknowledge that often times its the leadership thats the problem promoting false narratives to the common people to push their agendas.

In the age before social media, cable news etc.....the government and traditional news papers were the only source of info.

So how can you blame the people?

Now that we have more info to go on, perhaps we as individuals can look at these things and have a better perspective.

Anyways, again the brown people of South Asia bickering with each other isn't productive.

We are WAY behind those that have disproportionate influence over our affairs.

Let's at the very least not fight each other with disregard for that fact.

I’m just shocked by the racism exhibited by the bongoli members here. They are proposing to send the Biharis off because they don’t how to speak bongoli....

Bongolis wouldn’t know irony, if they were hit across the face with it in the form of a hilsa fish.

Reported your mocking of ethnic groups, sorry. That is against forum rules.

Most of the Bihari's children are fully assimilated into "Bangladeshi" culture now. They read, write and speak the language and live normal lives. Biharis, like other minorities in Bangladesh, are treated far better as minorities than other countries in South Asia. This is fact.

We will help them adapt to their lives to a new country, even if it is after 70 some years. I know and have known educated folks in Bangladesh with families from India, and of course Bihar. Some happen to be my close friends.

Once you speak "Bengali" though, you are no longer a minority in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has far less degree of communal disharmony than other countries. Ethnic and cultural Diversity is celebrated in Bangladesh, not used as a weapon of discrimination.

I wasn’t addressing you man. Rather I was talking about other members from your nation that were taking jibes at other ethnicities.

Trust me on this, the minorities that are mentioned are those that exist in every nook and cranny of India. And Pakistan. Bangladesh is healthier than any other part of south Asia because of their clear, single language identity.

LOL.

Bengal is an invention from the later Mediaeval ages. In ancient times, and intermittently, it has been seen in five portions, Varendra, Rarh, Vanga, Samatata and Harikela. Each of those had one or two major dialects:

Here they are, divided by dialect, BUT UNITED BY LANGUAGE:

Listen bhai, arguing amongst each other isn't productive.

Believe me, I get pissed just as much as you do with some of these clowns.

But try to get past that and focus on commonality.

The world, as you know, is alot bigger than South Asia.

And to them, we are all the same and basically worthless.

So lets not fight amongst each other.

Amio eidai koi. :-)

Fine. Can we lay off the ethnic name-calling. Does not befit a man of your stature. I will also deal with the others. Hot blooded younger folks I guess...
