Nothing much---if you cannot see it----bu t a lot if you can---. Russia has lost all its allies in the middle east in a years time. Its power base has shrunk extremely fast---so fast that it did not even had the time to react to it either.

A road and a rail road to gwadar---is the end goal---a dream supposedly to come true for russia---. A naval and a merchant shipping port----oppurtunity to establish a mega oil refinery in that area---a steel mill upgradation---a mega rail road project---transportation of goods thru an intermediate route---and not the least---a major setback for the Obama policies----.

If this things happens and if it happens fast---real fast---the republicans are going to smash Obama's policies to kingdom come---.

Nothing more satisfying to see this loud mouth braggart fall to his knees in humiliation---it would be a tragic moment for the u s foreign policy and foreign office.

The balance of power projection would shift one more time.

The unfortunate part is that Pak is forever attempting to make itself relevant by ' offering ' itself in terms of its resources, location or services.

It loses its relevance when any of these ' assets ' loose their sheen with time or the user finds an alternative etc.

A nation must have more to offer than just its physical self / attributes.

Russians are well aware that nobody offers India , Nuclear submarines, 5th generation fighters and other hardware with TOT, no restrictions and Indian military trusts Russia.

Such juvenile coercion would unnecessary.

I don't think any nation has anything more to offer than what it actually has, no country will ever be "Friends" with yours if they don't see their interests being fulfilled.
India is relevant to Russia because it represents the largest market for their products.
US is relevant to China because it is the world's largest consumer market.
KSA is relevant to the US because they are the largest producers of oil.
Israel is relevant to US because they represent a presence in the ME.
Pakistan is relevant to the US because our roads represent cheap logistic support to troops in A-stan.

And so on, without these symbiotic relationships, do you really feel these countries would give a damn about what goes on with the other?

However, India has been opting for American systems lately and that is really costing the Russian, the Mig-35 project is struggling and maybe put on hold because they lost the single largest contract that was supposed to put it into serial production. Though I agree that with the level of cross-investment, it will take half a century at minimum before Russia and India can look different ways however at the same time my diplomatic sense tells me that these are soft nudges aimed at India.

Dude even Pakistan exports plenty of agricultural products to China and it has reached to one of their highest marketing levels. We might as well do the same to Russia, if chance is given....

India is running their defense industry in simple words ..

Their 5th gen fighter fundings

Even Few experts says Mig 35 n Mig 29 are developing,advancing with indian fundings

We have 1 trillion dollar infrastructure market and telecom market,even one russian company invested 3.5 billion dollars in indian telecom market.

They are even ready to provide as one more carrier but india will have to fund that n russian ship yard and

i have not included subs,frigates,ammunition and changing of Su-30 MKI's in to super sukhois whose cost will go above 8-10 billion dollars

and indian nuclear reactor market which is above 300 billion dollars and russia have huge stake in it and they planted reactors in tamilnadu too

so if we conclude every thing,india can run russian defense industry for 2-3 decades more


so tell what pakistan have to offer?...these are just important financial deals not strategic leverage n other geo political offers ...

who knows what rest in pockets which are unknown till now

What Pakistan can offer, we wont know yet.....Most of its mrket need a lost of FDI ...a good opportunity for Russia.. and since Pakistan like to sell out its industries...like its telecom....complete control of its sectors are also possible.....Hence may look lucrative toi Russia


Pak need a leverage over USA...And russia need US influence to reduce....a tacit understand btwn China and russia on this


Hence better relation between Both is mutually beneficial.

Regard Russian stance on India wrt to pakistan........Not gonna change. Paksistan will prefer Chinese Military supplies which are mostly on soft loans and Russian defence industry is too intertwined with India to tick it off.....

Hence any relation with Pakistan ,will be economical, Anti-US and NEVER Anti- India .
For Pakistan ,any relation with Russia will be,more FDI ,Second godfather against US and possible leverage to central asia

you asked what india have to offer?..i gave value of more than 55 billion dollars in decade...

On some threads,you ppl enjoy soviet fall due to pakistan and on some other threads you enjoy pak russia relations
