I have read or heard that Hamas prepared for their attack for over a year. If so, I am wondering did anyone in Hamas anticipate the consequences and are consequences happening according to their plan? There is no comment (that I have seen or heard) by anyone in Hamas saying we succeeded, and everything is happening as expected.

It should be obvious that the planners of Hamas would have known the consequences of their military operation. They are heroes to have willingly risked the lives of their families.

I think that an excessive reaction from Israel was expected and plays into the hands of Hamas. If Israel had absorbed the blow and responded in a measured way then Hamas would have been isolated and Israel would have become the international darling. Even Muslim countries would have speeded up their friendship process with Israel. But Hamas know the reality of Israelis better than anyone else in the world and they knew that Israel will go berserk.

Now Israel has become a pariah in most of the world and it can forget about building relations with Muslim countries. The more women and children it kills the more it speeds up the process of its own demise.

No one, not even the intimately involved Gazans knew that Israeli security apparatus could be so quickly and easily neutralized. There are plenty of conspiracy theories around--with uncanny resemblances to America's 9/11--that Netanyahu deliberately allowed the attack. I tend to think those are conspiracy theories.

No one is interested in what they say but what they do. Each second for a word costs a life of a Palestinian child. The only thing that will stop Israel in its tracks is if Tel-Aviv was bombed and this ethnic cleansing made painful. Only Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and Egypt have the capability. Worst outcome for Israel is if these nations combine their assets and forces then Israel is doomed with or without NATO. The attack on and displacement of Palestinians should be exceptionally painful to Pakistan who suffered the same sort of massacres and ethnic cleansing during partition.

One option is for Pakistan to send tactical nukes to Lebanon, Jordan and Syria this would change the dynamics altogether. With Israel supplying weapons to Pakistan's enemies Pakistan can reciprocate. Time for Pakistan to throw away the begging bowl and stand up for Islamic values, the very same values for which sacrifices are being made by the Palestinians. During the Partition ,akin to what is happening in Palestine, cries of help by the refugee victims went unheard as the bodies piled up in railway stations, train tracks and dirt roads.

This is the time for Pakistan to take the leadership of the Islamic world and show the world that Pakistan is a significant pillar of the new world order. Organisation and action is the need of the day as the bodies under the rubble pile up.
