I don't know much about Sadat, maybe he thought that Egypt took too much loss after 4 Middle East Wars and needed to heal.
Surely Egypt should make a better economics and be less dependent on the americans.Their aid is never that unselfishness.
Egypt has the Suez Canal, and should make good use of it.
