Gas pipeline project 'impossible' under US sanctions, Pakistan tells Iran

.
Pakistan does not need oil for next 6 years

  • We have deals with Saudia and for Gas we have deals with Qatar
  • If we discover Gas from Sea we will need even less Gas from outside

However , theoretically , Pakistan-Iran's deal was done in 2005-2014 so the deal is outside scope of present day sanctions it was a old contract (Bilateral Nation to Nation Contract)

Only new business dealings fall under present age sanctions , old contracts are never impacted

That Deal was a joke.
Even when US exported wheat to Iran. Our banks simply refused even for FOOD Item which were not even in Sanction list.

So Pakistan shouldn't be upset if pipelines start going around them via the sea or Afghanistan and that's a big future cash cow they'll be saying no to! Their choice & also their loss!

putting down pipelines now for their own future doesn't mean the oil or gas will be flowing today or tomorrow or by the time Trumps term is up even!

If anything, what Pakistan should be working towards aside from pipelines is building transregional rail that would connect China and India across Pakistan and into Iran and from Iran into Iraq, Syria & Lebanon or Iran to Turkey..... Fact is within the next 10-20 years the Chinese economy will surpass the U.S. economy so there is a lot of money to be made from both China and India if Pakistan is properly prepared for it! And Pakistan is a beautiful country that sadly much like Iran isn't taking full advantage of it's tourism capabilities and to do so both Iran and Pakistan need to further invest in rail...….

Every time I consider the mullah regime next door I'm glad we're passively involved in them getting screwed.

But the reality is we're also shooting ourselves in the foot. Mullah regime won't be around forever, our border will be. Iran Pakistan ties are deeper than mullah regime. We need the energy and as pointed out by @VEVAK the future is the flow of trade east to west. I hate the short term ism in our foreign policy. Its never very bold either.

So if u are correct ... Then we will be paying fine of dollar 1 million daily ..

Pakistan’s master (America) won’t allow Pakistan to feed its energy needs and it’s local neighborhood master (Saudi Arabia) refuses to pay for it anyway.

Pakistan hasn’t done anything with this pipeline in over a decade, just like India hasn’t done anything with Chahabar port. They are both cut from The same cloth.

Irani's were charging way too much. Why we agreef to build this pipeline in the first place is beyond me. :disagree:
Both Qatar and KSA just ask less money due the political reasons ....
When the reason is gone ( which Iran won't ) or in time of need , they will ask Pakistan to pay the real price ....

Maat pochna himaqaton ki ek lambi dastan hai pehly din sy yeh project doom tha jab US pressure daal raha tha hum peechy hath gaye par kuch manwaya nahi ky uss sy.agay phir try kiya start karny uss waqt bhi pata tha yeh project hoga nahi tabhi iran ny penlaty clause daali aur hum sab ko pata hai uss clause ko kiss bayqaoof ny accept kiya par hamesha ki tarah iss mulk jo jo jitna loss karay koi pochny wala naihi ek daasatn e himaqat hai yeh poori deal

Forget the cash flow, they don't even mind loosing $18bn per year due to inefficiency of their power sector, while world bank has urged them to prioritize gas allocation to efficient power plants.
Pakistan’s power sector causes $18bn loss a year: report - Newspaper - DAWN.COM

What they can't afford is independency!

Did MBS give the money he promised to Pakistan?
And the double money he promised to India!

Yes but you also have to look at who you choose to be dependent on! And the numbers should be clear to both leader in our country and in Pakistan!
This is what's happened in the past decade

And at the same time the U.S. is $22 Trillion USD in debt that's 108% of their GDP and over $1 Trillion of that money is owed to China!
While China's Debt is ~$5Billion and under 50% of their GDP

Now within the next 2 decades China will no doubt overtake the U.S. economy and having the U.S. Dollar as the main global currency would make less and less sense because China with a population of almost 1 Billion people more than the U.S. will have much more room for growth & at that point the U.S. will NOT be able to print as much money as they like whenever they want!

Leaders both in Iran and in Pakistan need to weak the hell up because the future is NOT in the west but in the East and in Asia and in truth it's needs to be western nations that should be coming to us and falling to their knees and begging to countries like Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey,.... not the other way around!
