Gandhi was Hitler's sincere friend?

What are u curious about? Did you read any other gandhi's letter. He addressed everyone respectfully.

When you have to request for something from someone, you don't address them as your enemy.

Changing the topic a bit, what do you think would have happened if it had reached Hitler?

Nothing. Hitler probably wouldn't be convinced by a letter even from GOD , let alone Gandhi...

My point was 'sincere friend' part actually and also 'impertinent' (MASS WAR HERE!)

Actually, if their relation was good and Hitler was convinced by Gandhi's logic (Existent), it would have been effective.

sincere friend--- one's who advice rightly... are u that dumb ?
Ad Hominem. I know the dictionary meaning, do you use those words to talk to anyone you don't know well?

Also, Gandhi revolted against the British in 1942 through the Quit India movement. This hurt UK in its war against Germany. Co-incidence of the timing?

Read, numbnuts....

'It is quite clear to me that you are today the one person in the world who
can prevent a war which may reduce humanity to the savage state. Must you
pay that price for an object however worthy it may appear to you to
be?'

There's no relation. Even during his lifetime, Gandhi grew to become a legend and a stalwart for peace and non-violence. He is like Abraham Lincoln, Santa Claus...(insert similar personalities here ). He was expected to voice his opinions in world affairs and thats what he did.

Sir Mussolini?

Second letter
It's in the British Museum

Again...you fail to read or even attempt to understand the letter. He is pushing his ideology of non-violence to Hitler in the hope that Hitler may abandon his ridiculous stand. Gandhi wrote exactly two letters to Hitler and these are on public display in Mani Bhavan ( India ) and in British museums ( according to you ). These letters are not exactly a secret...its been out there for the whole world to see for decades.

Which means, folks are intelligent enough to make the effort to understand the letter. Unlike you, of-course.

HE IS ASKING HITLER TO MAKE PEACE AND RESORT TO NON-VIOLENCE.

Apparently, there is even a movie on this..
After getting rave reviews at the Cannes film festival 2011, Amrapali Media Vision's first venture into film world, an International film, 'Gandhi To Hitler' is all set to storm the cinemas on 29th July, 2011 all over. The film will be released both in English and Hindi languages. The International version of the film is titled 'Dear Friend Hitler' and the National version is titled 'Gandhi To Hitler'.

The film takes you back to 1939 – A world plagued with unrest and upheaval. Adolf Hitler's (Raghuvir Yadav) ruthless ambition for German expansion in Eastern Europe is becoming increasingly violent and inhuman. Whereas another nation, India, struggles in its fight for freedom against the British as the idealistic Mahatma Gandhi (Avijit Dutt) continues to appeal to his countrymen to adopt a stand of non-violence. A stark contrast in ideologies even with an eventual common opponent, Gandhi one day decides to pen a letter to the German dictator... a letter he hoped would persuade Hitler to change his path and avoid the Second World War, avoid the massive calamity that it would bring on.

Gandhi then wrote a second letter to Hitler, this time closer to Hitler's own downfall, at a time when Hitler was plagued with betrayal all around him while confined to an underground bunker. We witness a contrast in the ideologies of these two leaders and the eminent result of Hitler's brutal and catastrophic methods.

Gandhi To Hitler / Dear Friend Hitler looks at Hitler's downfall, his last days when only his love Eva Braun (Neha Dhupia) and his trusted aide Joseph Goebbels (Nalin Singh) stood by him, as the Germany around him crumbled and his trusted comrades deserted him; and through the central young couple Balbir (Aman Verma) and Amrita (Lucky Vakharia) we see that the fate of many was determined by the ideology that they chose to adopt.

The film establishes the superiority of Gandhism over Nazism, thereby giving the message of world peace, a message still relevant in today's context where the world continues to grapple with the dark clouds of terrorism.

Gandhi to Hitler / Dear Friend Hitler - Times Of India

Gandhi was evil and racist. I did some research during his stay in south africa it turned out he was gay and racist. He promoted apparty between whites and blacks and wanted Indians living in africa under british. As you may know that dark africans wee disregarded even lower than south asians so he took that opportunity tp become famous and overturn things into his favour. If you read the biographies some of which are banned in India as Indian government wants to hide the truth behind why he wanted independence for his own gain him and nehru they were opportunistic people who wanted them first citizens second. Later nehru's action determined it by using politics and armed forces. Eg 1962 china was also due to indian forward policy made my nehru. It was come to notice that indian army was deep inside occupied tibet further inside than arunachal pradesh and aksai chin they were really deep inside according to some (dont know if true read somewhere) hence the provocation and war which later followed.
Back to Gandhi he too was arrogant especially to Indians themselves he was a so called higer caste hindu and he did had plans to carry out discriminated laws which were implied in africa during the time of british rule. But his plan later failed as due to other important people such as bose. Though he was assasinated in a plane fake accident. This made a clear way for nehru gandhi dynasty

Conclusion indian government still hides the secret archives and bans books related to gandhi about his involvement in africa and the racist remarks made by him for his personal gains.

Vodka effect?

This letter was addressed in 1939... Germany as a nation was fully behind him, and it was before hitler started committing his atrocities..

I did bother to read the letter, what bothers me is not the message (peaceful) but the respectful tone of friendship

How else is Gandhi supposed to address a formal/informal letter to Hitler?

Dear "Retarded,Anti-Semitic, deluded, Aryan-wannabe, narcissistic piece of ****"

Would that have suffice to convince you Gandhi wasn't being friendly with Hitler?

Disturbing letter from Gandhi to Hitler where he calls Hitler his sincere friend

How could someone have been a friend of a mass murdering and evil man?
He even asks for forgiveness

Hi Truthsheer,

I hate you. I feel you are bad boy. I want you to understand that I hate you. Hope you understand your logic is flawed here.. :)

Lovengly yours
Nj

OMG, I love you... as I said "Lovengly yours'"

I am quite sure most of the haters would be looking a letter like this,
HI BC Hitler,
Stop doing all bulshit and go and hide in ur mamas lap, other wise i will come and wack on ur @ss. u MC.
Your biggest enemy
Ganhdhi.
I am quite sure this is the type of letter most of the haters are expecting. Maybe there national heros would have written similar letter, thats why yhey have such expectation. Sorry to say, but our National heros were too humble, and respected there worst enemy also, so you should not expect such letters from them.

although i hate both of them but gandhi did that only in trying to stop the holocaust and the world war 2

Hating Gandhi? ok....I think you living in India so at least you might have some problems in street lights , roads ,drainage ,medical facilities or traffic jam around you house/region. To fix that problem just gather 10-15 members and lead them till those thing get it done in proper channel. That time definitely you able 2 understand why we call him as MAHATMA? gathering/convincing people under one course is not an easy thing dear.
