Free will: Christian converts to Hinduism

Sorry to point out this link is S**t. Hinduism has no "Thekedar". Even this site has put the word (better) before Hindus. The especially idiotic thing the five principles. Never heard of them before.

For definition of hinduism check this
Raceandhistory.com - The English Invention of Hinduism

The English census-compilers were assigned the daunting task of conducting the Indian head-count by the British government. These people were not theologians, and coined the term `Hindu' as a blanket term to encompass several religions. Thus a `Hindu' was defined in the Census as anybody who was not Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, or Jain. It was thus an exclusivist term: Hinduism was defined by what it was not, and not by what it was. It is hence entirely unsuitable as a definition. Later the term Sanatana Dharma was invented to deliberately submerge the English creation of Hinduism.

concept of conversion is alien to hinduism. How can any one be converted when there r so many diff concepts and thought process. ?

.
Hindu and Muslim cross marriages are not encouraged by and large in india. That I admit. Both by Hindus and by Muslims. While in North India the reaction is the same from both communities..in South the Hindus just tend to disown the girl in most instances and move on. They dont indulge in violence.

Karnataka is in south. I know many instances here.

.
More than belief in hinduism it more so expands to belief in god.In thats sense it makes every believer a hindu.

Well, as per Gita all are equal. the beliver or non believer, the sinner or a good guy.

It is your actions which matter. Your action is worship, thus called Karmayoga.

Let me too add my 2 bits, since nobody is getting banned

Hinduism has 2 top level branches, if you can call it that. Astik and Nastik.

A lot of Hindus will consider Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism off-shoots of Hinduism under the nastik stream.

The prevalent group today though is Vedanta. Basically means belief in the Vedas. This itself has 2 components mainly. Advaita and Dwaita. It can also get divided into Shaivism (Shiva seen as the supreme deity), Vaishnavism (Vishnu seen as the supreme deity) and Shaktism (Mother Goddess seen as the supreme deity). Then there is the concept of ishta-devs (personal preference deity) and kula dev (deity worshipped by the family). But at the end of the day, the belief is in a single deity the Brahman.

Anyways, lots of folks will disagree and have their own versions. So you have version 1..version 2...version 1 A.1.2

:big_boss:

And if a person does not believe in God...he is an Hindu Atheist.

Lots of people trying to be thekedaars :police:...thankfully not succeeding much!

HYDERABAD: A Christian girl, Sonia Masih, converted to Hinduism on Wednesday in order to marry a boy, Kumar, of Hindu origin.
Sonia submitted an affidavit to the oath commissioner confirming that she converted her religion out of her own free will. The couple got married under Hindu rituals in a local temple.

I wish the newly married couple all the best, but it would have been a big HOO HAAA & Allegations been thrown at each other, if it would have been a Hindu/Christian gal converted to Islam to marry a Muslim boy.... we are living in a world of hypocrisy

If she had been Muslim, she would have been put to death in accordance with Sharia law.

. . .
Hinduism doesn't allow conversion. Full Stop. That is a reason why their numbers are dwindling in India, BD and everywhere. What has happened here is that these two got married in the court. This is different, not conversion in real sense.

Changing their Religion is their own freedom...every Religion denoting Humanity and peace..even Allah also...( u know what is my point)

Here in my Panjayat is only Hindu and Chirstian peoples.....Thanks god No muslim's here......

Concept of Brahman is not known to many

There are a lot of tribals considered as hindu scheduled tribe. All having different customs and different beliefs Brahman concept doesn't occur anywhere.

To deliberately put them in any structure is akin to manipulation of actual beliefs.

Hinduism (like zorastrianism or judaism) does not promote conversion. Budhism does.
However if somebody calls him hindu, rest of us have no business to deny.
Legally, if you declare yourself as hindu you are hindu (same for other religion).
