I think this is relevant to this thread, sorta shows how different communities react.

Honour at stake: Love in the time of blasphemy – The Express Tribune

Lahore: In a village in Narowal district, a Muslim girl and a Christian boy decided to elope. Now, in the aftermath, 30 Christian families are on the run.

Sana, 23, and Chand Masih, 25, eloped from their houses in Gadowal village on September 21, and went to an undisclosed location. The girl’s family searched for her for two days before a local cleric decided to intervene, and turn the heat on the entire Christian community.

Local clerics, under the leadership of Maulana Amjad Farooqi, reached the girl’s residence and convinced her father to take a firm stand against the Christians who, Farooqi claimed, had “pre-planned” the event.Following that, a large number of people gathered in the village, called out the Christians of the locality, and warned them to bring back the eloped couple or else their houses would be burnt down.

I am not sure whether one can 'convert' to hinduism.
But if somebody chooses to call himsef/herself hindu, he is hindu (there is no way one can judge who is hindu and who is not)

. . .
conversion into hinduism???There is nothing like conversion concept in hinduism except for arya samajis who started this nonsense influenced by abrahamic religion.

You can argue any thing. Some blive you can convert. Some doesnt.

How to Become a Hindu, Chapter 5: Does Hinduism Accept Newcomers.

Sorry madam Atheism is also a well accepted practice in Hinduism. Wikipedia has good info about it. It was actually a geographical concept.

Ne ways this news is non sense
few incidents as it strike me now:
One of my close friend Ms. D'Souza (christian) is married to Mr singh a Hindu Rajput. Guess we were never bothered, neither it made any news nor there was any conversion ceremony etc.

Similar but opposite case was with my another close friend Ms. Jain She married Mr. John and guess again we were never bothered, neither it made any news nor there was any conversion ceremony etc.

Yeah, there were Muslim friends in my college who use to felt extra - euphoric on hearing some of their cousin is marrying a Hindu girl. I think that's their upbringing; but still none of it made any news for reporting.

Who is the idiot reporter? ..........I am not qualified enough to name the person starting this thread.

Dude, This happens in India too. If a hindu girl eloped with muslim boy then there used to be communal riots. I know many such incidents in Karanataka it self. (vice versa also true)

But problem is even if girl changed her faith, started following Islam then also people argue it as forced conversion.

Look at this case, She converted freely with her own wish. But her muslim frends were arrested and charged over kidnapping her. She is asking for her release saying she is free, no one kidnapped and accessible to media.

Hindu and Muslim cross marriages are not encouraged by and large in india. That I admit. Both by Hindus and by Muslims. While in North India the reaction is the same from both communities..in South the Hindus just tend to disown the girl in most instances and move on. They dont indulge in violence.
