France Wants Rafale Fighter Price For India Same As That Of Egypt, Qatar

. . .
Rafale is a mid size fighter. Same as F-16. Not suitable for a big country like India

. .
Production Costs
The F-35 Lightning II was designed to be an
affordable 5 Generation fighter, taking
advantage of economies of scale and
commonalities between the three variants.
Since we built the first F-35, production costs
have dropped 55 percent.
The most recently contracted unit costs for
Low Rate Initial Production lot 7 (not including
the engine) are:
F-35A: $98 million
F-35B: $104 million
F-35C: $116 million
An F-35A purchased in 2018 and delivered in
2020 will be $85 million, which is the
equivalent of $75 million in today’s dollars.
The U.S. Government and F-35 industrial team
continue to collaborate to further reduce F-35
costs for future production lots. Since the
F-35 program Technical Baseline Review in
2011, the team has studied and successfully
implemented numerous affordability measures
to drive costs out of the program.

too much confusion regarding the Rafale deal, every few days some new news with new prices and order figures.

In my humble opinion, it would have been suited if India would have got them in late 2000s. Now situation demands more advance stealthier heavy class fighter jet which could protect India's interests in new emerging scenario specially in the Indian Ocean. F-35 or PAK FA would be the ideal choices. Or the Su 37 which is super maneuverable.

With Russian delays and Indian penny wise, pound foolish dealings, PAKFA could be obsolete by the time it reaches India.

Does.US provides f16 to all countries at the same price?

Is India a closer ally to Frace vs Egypt?

India should get in line for f-22.

.
it the fault of india because before no one was buying so india would have good price
and now several countries have and buying and more countries will follow
they wont make it cheap now
also india make a deal with them though not final then withdrew it again as usual indian ways
see now you pay more ahahhaa and also nothing is final until now

Negotiations are ongoing, no point reacting to every maneuver. For example Qatar's order of 36 were priced at $300M a piece, so India's potential order at 220M is by itself a deep cut. refer here for fuller discussion on contracts:

France’s Rafale

Examples of the many negotiating points :

The French government has lowered the per-unit cost of the deal, dropping this by 25% in May. They are offering French missiles instead of the Astra, likely manufactured by European missile house MBDA. The Indian Air Force also wants to integrate

an Israeli-manufactured helmet display system, something which the French are unlikely to allow.

French negotiators have reportedly

rejected Indian proposals for a 50% offset arrangement in the Rafale contract negotiations. The French government has responded by offering to manufacture aircraft in India through future contracts, under the ‘Make in India’ procurement framework. Indian insistence on an offset will drive up the price of the 36 Rafales, which are currently on offer for the same price being paid by the French Air Force, following the aforementioned price drop in May.

If India scrap this deal, no one would trust a big tender from India again. The pressure is on India to get this deal done.

spoken like a middle school yard contest! refer my post above on negotiations
