France to provide combat copters

From wat i rem somewhere in this thread someone said without source ! that US has offered and is willing to sell us the super cobra's then why not try for them ?

.
Z10 had many part from Canada and rest of Europe therefore Brition and US twistged the arms of other European countries to ban those items. hence Z10 is a frozen project. so it will be always a question mark.

same goes with Turkish copter. I doubt if it will be 100% locally built. if it has American parts then again Turkey wont be able to seel it to us. just like they are not allowed to sell their F16s they make.

there arent many countries that build all the items and the combat patform from scratch and the one that do that and sell them to other countries always put conditions. this is also the reason why Sweden's SAAB Griphen coouldnt be sold to Pakistan because it had American parts in it.

all part of fun. we are suck withF7 and J thunder .. we have to hope and pray to Allah that these things fullfill our needs

For the time being there is no news of freezing of Z-10 program, chinese defence websites are saying that a regimental strength may already be in service & may be on this years chinese national day parade they are featured.
Except for Z-10's canadian engine, no other parts of foreign origin have been used in manufacturing Z-10. They have just taken help regarding the rotor systems & transmission systems from Eurocopter & AgustaWestland, that also in the form of a 7 ton joint helicopter project Z-15 or EC175. Plus, chinese are looking at alternate helicopter engine source, ukraine, russia or may be the joint engine developed with for the joint transport helicopter can be used. As china is already license producing the Turbomeca Arriel engines for Z-9 & Z-11 variants of helicopter designated as WZ-8A.
A new variant WZ-9 engine is already in testing & evaluation phase.
They have taken help from South Africans also.

If u study the complete story of Z-10 manufacturing, u will understand that china has invested a lot of time in this project as they know how critical it is for them, as no other country is selling them attack helicopters. So abandoning this project at this stage is impossible. All of chinese weapons systems are secretive, the come on the stage with a blast. So this will also come as a surprise.

As for ATAK T-129, its 100% Turkish project, all systems would be manufactured by Turkish Industries, already the A-129 was an Italian Project, Under the agreement, Turkey has full marketing and intellectual property rights for the T129 platform. There are also no restrictions imposed on Turkey for the export or transfer of the platform to third countries, only Italy itself & Uk are excluded.

France not to provide Tigers to Pakistan
July 23, 2009

France agreed last month to provide Pakistan Tigre attack Helicopters but today French foreign minister said Pakistan is in ungent need of Helis for the ongoing war against terror and these choppers cannot be delivered as the French millitary itself has to wait for atleast 6 months to recieve its fresh batch of Tiger gunships . So intead of Tigers France is willing to sell Eurocopter Fennec light multi purpose helis to Pakistan. Pakistan already has around 20 Fennec in service. Pakistan Army currently has 50-60 tranport helicopters of russian, us and French origin and almost 30 Cobra attack Helis.

france not to provide tigers to pak weapon systems

thanks for the insight specially the Z10.. I read some news on BBC and also saw a clip where some British channel did some investigation about how Chinese are bypassing the embargo on millitary sale from Europe by buying bits from different countires and making a combat machine in the end. the report claimed that after this revelation the sale of engines and other systems were banned. and also checks put in place to ban any equipment that has a pissible military use. (all in the name of Tiananmen square massacre). i was furious to see the video and the cheek and biggotry of the US and British goverments that on one hand they are continuing to punish China for that incident some decaces ago while they themselves have killed more civilians in Pakistan (drone attacks), Afghanistan and Iraq and their beloved Israel kills many on regualr bases.

it is good to know that China will be able to build a good platform without restrictions

Chinese dudes have tasted the reality of sanctions on military equipment just as we have learned.
So now Chinese do indulge in such activities to get blue prints or help which results in their own military equipment development.

Chinese are stubborn, when they take on something of complicated nature, they make it to the end, many of their equipments are testament to that, it doesn't matter whether they copy it, make modifications to the original design to make it more better or make something on their own, as long as they keep rolling out latest weapons which in turn help us and themselves.

And do read the article on the en.wikipedia.org about Z-10, very informative.

i wish some ching chong pong would have been our leader and we wont have made the mistake of going for US systems again and again knowing that we will always be betrayed!

woow cool.... like the french said... cannt give pakistan tigers in short notice so 2012-14 could be the time frame?... but does that mean no T-129 for PA? or we buy tigers in limited numbers for anti-tank role while T-129 as multi role chopper? quite a deadly combo..

Somehow I have no :smitten: for this deal, as alway (atleast in my huble opinion :D) Growler is right, T-129 people, :taz: where does this Tiger deal lead with plans for other possibilities and why didnt we pursue the T129?

.
Can someone please provide an approx. cost? This is a very expensive copter specially when Pakistan has other cost effective options.

Zaradri's love for French deals will use up a lot of Pakistani funds :hitwall:

Tiger HAP $35–39 million USD
Tiger ARH $36 million USD
Tiger HAD $44–48 million USD
Tiger UHT $38–43 million USD

The Tiger HAP/HCP (Helicoptere d'Appui Protection / Helicopter for Close Protection) is a medium-weight air-to-air combat and fire support helicopter built for the French Army.

The UHT (from Unterstützungshubschrauber Tiger; Ger. supporting helicopter Tiger) is a medium-weight multi-role fire support helicopter built for the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces).

The Tiger ARH (Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter) is the version ordered by the Australian Army to replace its OH-58 Kiowas and UH-1 Iroquois-based 'Bushranger' gunships.

The Tiger HAD (Hélicoptère d'Appui Destruction / Support Destruction Helicopter) version is essentially identical to the HAP version, but with 14% more engine power available due to the upgraded Enhanced MTR390 engines (1464shp) and a better ballistic protection.
