Turkey is supporting the UN backed government in Libya - shouldn't France be doing the same? You do know within an hour of the incident France sent in emergency several warships, maritime patrol aircraft and several Rafale over the area ? Nobody ran away. Turkish Navy is surely a credible opponent but not a threat to the French Navy.
Do not take Europeans lack of political will as being afraid of Turkey and its sultan or some. If you really think French interests and concerns in Libya are all about "few oil" contracts, then you are clearly mistaken.
At the very least, I fail to see any justification for Macron's "criminal responsibility" criticism of Turkey.
If you're going to argue that support for a UN recognized government in a civil war is a 'criminal action', then the US and its NATO allies supporting the UN backed government in Afghanistan for years is a far bigger crime.
