The Foreign Minister of Sweden, Carl Bildt, wrote an article, published in Dagens Nyheter,
yesterday on four principles which must guide the future for Gaza.
An uncondtional cease-fire is the first step.

”Varje lösning måste utgå från att blockaden hävs” - DN.SE

1. The Blockade must cease

2. Israels legitimate need for security must be respected. No nation can tolerate indiscriminate missile attack or tunnels into its territory. Hamas and other group is using terrorism, even if civilian casualties is sofar limited.
An agreement must contain a strong international mechanism that ensures that weapons or other products which can be used to threatening Israel cannot be imported. One possible solution would be giving control over the Rafah crossing to EU which would guarantee both free passing of civilian goods as well as control of military material.

3. Gaza must become a part of the Palestinian Administration based in Ramallah.
This is required for the needed rescue and relief mission after the conflict has ended.

Israel must accept free, open and democratic elections for the Palestinian Administration within a year.

Gaza must be demilitarized, and the responsibility for this lies with the Palestinian Administration.

4. Gaza must be allowed to become the connection to the Mediterranean for the
whole of the Palestinian Administration, with an airport and a port.
Travelling between the West Bank and Gaza must be facilitated without endangering Israels security.

. .
As things stand the first priority should be to implement an immediate ceasefire without any pre-conditions.

Second, Israel must lift its blockade of Gaza which has turned the Palestinian territory into an open air prison.

Third, both Hamas and Israel must accept the two-state solution to end the conflict.

In fact, the Palestinian Authority based in the West Bank has covered considerable ground towards this end, including the 2012 UN general assembly vote that upgraded Palestine's status to a non-member state. Israel must realise that its military offensive does little to protect its civilians in the long run and only strengthens Hamas within the Palestinian political landscape, while Israel loses the propaganda war as world opinion drifts steadily away from it.

Well, demilitarisation of gaza is next to impossible if the blockade is lifted.Even with the blockade in place, hamas managed to smuggle a lot of weaponry. No prizes for guessing what will happen under hamas if the blockade is lifted

This author got bribed by Jewish money to write this article.

This isn't a 'Gaza problem', this is an Israeli problem. The occupation has been ongoing for decades. Gaza and the West Bank are not separate. They are part of Palestine.

The solution is what the international community has been suggesting this whole time. A two state solution based on 1967 borders with international forces guarding Palestinian borders/airspace.

The solution is pressuring Israel into committing to the peace process.

As things stand the first priority should be to implement an immediate ceasefire without any pre-conditions.

Pre-conditions are actually crucial this time.

Well, demilitarisation of gaza is next to impossible if the blockade is lifted.

In what way? Internationally monitored seaports, Israeli crossings opened to allow goods and commerce. Weapons aren't easy to smuggle through borders. Most likely impossible along all borders(7 Israeli crossings, one Egyptian).

Even with the blockade in place, hamas managed to smuggle a lot of weaponry.

That's because tunnels were open. Egypt has destroyed thousands and the tunnels are gone.

Not easy, but neither is it next to impossible. The odds are hamas and its even more extremist buddies will have a nice time smuggling weapons in.They use UN facilities for storing rockets, wonder what UN was smoking not to have proper control of its facilities.

Good, then I guess Israelis can't be brought to the table.

Hamas isn't extremist and their resistance has nothing to do with extremism. This mentality amongst Israeli's is meant to exonerate themselves from responsibility. It has more to do with ....:

The truth is the current conflict has little if anything to do with Hamas or its rockets. It does however have everything to do with the state of Israel’s decades-long policy of occupation, embargo, siege, collective punishment, expropriation, ethnic cleansing and apartheid. Israel’s war is not with Hamas but with the Palestinian people in their entirety, both the 1.5 million in Gaza and the 3 million in the West Bank. It is a war waged every hour of every day there is occupation, checkpoints, and settlements. It is a war waged every hour of every day there is an economic embargo, siege, and collective punishment. It is a war being waged every second of the indignity and humiliation suffered by its victims.

................

Until Israeli's accept the reality and acknowledge this, they will become an isolated apartheid state.

Might is right in this world.Sorry that is what just is.

PS-Hamas is extremist terrorist organisation, recognised so by many in the international community.Your statement to the contrary just robs you off credibility.

. . . .
If Israel is demilitarized the terrorists will not stop till every jew is killed.

There are no 'terrorists', Israel is the terrorist state. There are tens of millions of Jews around the world. Israel is one state of Zionists. No one cares about 'killing every Israeli'. All nations around Israel have economic and diplomatic relations with it.

International forces can be deployed. Peace will prevail. But, you don't want peace. Which is probably because you're an outsider who supports perpetual occupation.

No they don't. Same states who do so are the biggest terrorist states to ever be known on planet earth. One of their genocides in Algeria for example.

Hamas has talks with foreign officials, who sympathize with the Palestinian cause but can't change much currently do to power of Jewish establishment.

.
A two state solution is nonviable pipe dream for that millions of people must be moved to other areas . the distribution of resources would be a nightmare .
the only viable solution would be a country for all with equal right for all .

Unlike you, other people try to see both sides of the story and are looking for solutions
which will achieve a balance between Israeli and Palestinian interests.
Until Hamas accepts this, they will remain isolated.

"The EU strongly condemns the indiscriminate firing of rockets into Israel by Hamas and militant groups in the Gaza Strip, directly harming civilians. These are criminal and unjustifiable acts. The EU calls on Hamas to immediately put an end to these acts and to renounce violence. All terrorist groups in Gaza must disarm. The EU strongly condemns calls on the civilian population of Gaza to provide themselves as human shields."
