It's ridiculous for any government to block any website.

This list from the Indian government is dumb founding.

ABC.net.au which is the Australian State Media is blocked. No idea why that would be.

We are receiving massive attacks from motivated criminals.

In a fair world GoI would be liable for bearing the expenses we incur because of these attacks from cyber criminals.

I received the 'cloudfare' webpage yesterday and a day before yesterday a few times while tried to open PDF. Has that got anything to do with the blockage of PDF by Indian authorities?

Anyway, I don't know why would Indian Authorities do this to their people... Is India really becoming just like China in internet censorship?

Asim, you are equally culpable for hosting stuff which should not have been on your forum.

I guess we are seeing the evolution of states begining to draw the line on social media and their responsibilities.

The Internet is not just cyber traffic when it crosses national boundaries and enters the homes of citizens.

Citizens who pay taxes and are deserving of the state's protection.

Citizens also who enjoy the states largese and have responsibilities towards the state.

Also we maintain we are an international site with the pure focus on discussing Pakistani issues.

Not to mention GoI's leaking this list was highly unprofessional, they could have just communicated with us about their issues and we would entertain and consider valid/legal requests from official authorities. By leaking this list they have given targets to cyber criminals.

By revealing the list of sites, the government is showing to its own people that it is doing its job, otherwise who will believe them ?

We are a discussion forum. People are free to post what they want, this is not going to change because some people posted wrong information - we cannot decide what information is correct or wrong. Till the time it is pointed out to us, and it merits removal (as most of the time whenever wrong information is pointed out that is enough) we will take action.

Note we primarily took action against the Burma thread because it had graphic content which we don't like posted here anyway.

Almost everyone is uninanimous (including many voices from India - as they have banned Indian sites too) that protection of freedoms is more important than anything else.

By revealing the list of sites, the government is showing to its own people that it is doing its job, otherwise who will believe them ?

Why don't they say they revealed it then? They are saying it got leaked.
