foundation stone of new GHQ in islamabad after budget

The following Sectors were allocated to the armed forces when the foundation of Islamabad was laid.

E8 - Navy
E9 - PAF
E10- Army

All respective HQs were supposed to be built in these sectors.
PN took the lead, then PAF followed. Army decided to commence the construction in 2010, but couldn't.
It's about time.
The design is based on Islamic architecture, somewhat similar to the PM secretariat.

I feel GHQ should be decentralized and a copy of it must be present in all Territories of Pakistan so command can be operated from any locality

Ideally in mountain area underground

I do wish that the Parliament buildings in all provinces should be demolished or made into hospitals and the politicians should be fired from their jobs permanently

Same with Courts if they can decide on case in 3 days they should be also shut down

FORs
A) Moving GHQ just next to Naval and PAF HQs will improve coordination and should increase efficacy of all 3 arms in terms of quick decision making and lesser bottlenecks
B) Moving all the 3 HQs in 3 adjacent sectors will make it easy to provide adequate and concentrated air cover to these
C) Design is hardly an issue so long as it is more underground than above the ground, and with proximity of Margallas I am sure there will be quite a few bunkers and tunnels leading in and out

AGAINST
The missing sense in making all three highest military interest targets in such close proximity when we cannot claim that we have stronger air defence than the offensive air capability of our enemies. A single successful strike can demoralize the nation if the news flashes contain images of burnt out and collapsed buildings that are a symbol of pride for the Nation irrespective of the actual damage it caused

As long as it is hi-tech and efficient, then I don't see any problem.

impressive work. hint of Pentagon style but very stylish . not sure if such radical and awesome design will be picked
My 2 cents, i would prefer if all these office blocks were connected with each other. Pentagon style. I hope they plan some underground corridors to connect these office blocks with each other. I say this so that the building can act as one unit, specially if under some threat.

Very well said i believe FOR section is less valuable as compared to Against. In case of any nuclear exchange all HQ could be targeted by single strike of 100 or 150 KT warhead which our enemy possessed and we don't have any active or declared BMD system.
GHQ should be near mountains and main building should be in deep indside below the rocky mountains.

Why does Pakistan need a brand new GHQ ?
Saadi marzi...
Current GHQ is surrounded by heavy populated civilians areas and always difficult to handle threats.

Sorry, the design is not impressive at all. Other existing army installations look better than this new GHQ. And i agree that near this new GHQ, there should not be any housing societies and by that i mean not even askaris or dha.
It look like palace. agreed.
