Today PMLq and PMLf announce the merger and Pir Pagara will be the leader of the party. The new name is All Pakistan Muslim League. It seem Shiekh Rashid already join the new league. Interesting scenario, this name is already under consideration in election commission from Musharraf.

Something is really cooking in there. Formation of All Pakistan Muslim League, Announcements of Musharaff's return, recent statement of NS in favor of "constitutional change", conspiracy to kill Justice Shareef, murder of Dr. Imran Farooq and visits of American diplomats; somehow i feel it is all connected and we are in for a bumpy ride for next 2-3 months!!

Musharaf won't make it.. no matter even if all the PMLz unite in his favour. Has somebody heared the news on Aaj Tv about Musharaf's effort to hand over Dr. Qadeer to USA? One organized rally against him will do it. There are 10s of matters which can inflame instant hatred against this chap.. like

1 - Red Mosque
2 - Dr. Afia
3 - NRO
4 - Murder of BB
5 - Bugti Murder
6 - Second Martial Law
7 - Selling of Countrymen
8 - Judicial Sabotage
9 - Dr. Qadeer
10 - 12 May
11 - and list goes on...

In my honest opinion, he is not the matter to be a political person. He is simply not worth it. Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Altaf Drama are also the same unworthy characters.

^ I agree. To grab the power by force is one thing and to command respect of the masses and get elected in majority is a different ball game altogether. He might have been a good president/administrator (according to some; I have my doubts) but he certainly is not a good politician as exhibited by him while making un popular decisions like Red-Mosque Operation and house-arrests of senior Judges of Supreme court etc.

I would say its not about command respect of masses and getting elected by majority. Its all about who is pulling the strings.

How many of us respect the NS, Z, Buttos and so on

People forget Pir Pagara openly support Pakistan army. Already open arms for Musharraf in his press conference.

ALL PAKISTAN MUSLIM LEAGUE ho ya PML N/Q/F or PPP or MQM or ANP or wt ever be...............All are wanted to suck more blood of the people.....n these r the new policies to suck nation

Pir Pagara is related to PM Gilani (his grandaughter is married to Gilani's son) also majority of these politicians are related with each other in some cases one brother is in PMLQ , other is in PMLN and the sister is in PPP , I don't think the Sun of power ever sets in their household. One certain thing is these politicians were a failure in the past and they will be a failure in the future . We need someone like Imran , with new blood . But an honest politician is a very very rare commodity in Pakistan and not many people can afford .

So let me get this right, they've stolen the name of Musharraf's new party?

So they're effectively sidelining Musharraf before he can announce his manifesto, and stealing his party name? Wow, how b1tchy!

He's not on board as far as I can see.

A man who was trained to command an army can be a good show piece and advisor but not a democractic leaders..I would favour him for the post of PM but not president.

Well, going beyond that, he has no political power base whatsoever through his new party.

I think he's hurting whatever positive legacy he has by going back and trying to make a breakthrough, whether that's looking to become a PM or President. He can't even think of those positions yet, as he has a tough road ahead.

If Imran Khan can't make the necessary inroads, and he is seen as a positive personality, then what chance has Musharraf - who we have to accept is a controversial figure in Pakistan.

Pir pagara doesnt wield any power across Pakistan so it doesnt matter who he supports. His statements are used by media as spice.

Rehman Malik said Musharraf should NOT return as some militant groups will kill him whereas Pir Pagara said Musharraf should come he has no life threat

Rahman will obviously discourage him to come back, because of NRO. Nodoubt his life is in danger, because of extremist elements. But but main issue is NRO.

Why not try a pool here on pdf or check the popularity of Musharraf on face book?
I think if elections are fair no one can beat Musharraf but fake voting lists and fake voting can defeat even Quaid-e-Azam.

Now to put things in perspective Musharraf won referendum in Pakistan and is popular enough to win many more.

As far as I remember we had a poll some time ago here on PDF and it was Imran Khan that got the most votes! Besides, online forums and facebook are no means to measure a popularity of a politician. The rural population which consists the majority of voters in Pakistan have no access to internet!
