Forgetful ingrates are we?

I'm sure every Pakistani of my generation and even many foreigners have grown up listening and singing to "Dil Dil Pakistan"...That's the song which catapulted Vital Signs into the fame and soon Junaid Jamshed become a house-hold name after he separated from the band on his solo career.

He earned millions through selling copies of this album and even more from the career that started with this song... Later Junaid Jamshed left the music industry and become a cleric and preacher of Tablieeghi Jamat..turned to the business of fashion and started the chain of JJ and the brand became popular with multiple stores in all major cities of Pakistan and abroad...even I bought quite a few traditional Pakistani dresses for myself from his chain which were more expensive than the market..but that's what you pay for the brand name...The whole preamble I'm building is for this

Nisar Nasik...does it ring any bells? No. no surprise..This is the name of the poet who who wrote lyrics of this beautiful song which turned many into millionaires and successful musicians and singers but Mr Nisar Nasik is spending his life in poverty... Isn't a shame for all those who made millions they didn't pay the lyricist his due? Shouldn't there be a royalty for him?
We need to think...If we want to have good quality soulful and meaningful lyrics...we must pay our creators especially the people who are behind the scenes.
