India ‘rape capital of the world’

Last week, a Danish woman reported to the police that she had been gang raped while travelling in New Delhi. This, combined with the rape of a young German charity worker earlier that week, has elevated sexual violence in India to the main topic of discussion in worldwide news cycles. Largely in response to media coverage, the United Kingdom, Canada and France have all issued travel warnings on account of an apparent rape threat for those planning to visit India.

That s what they said about about India for 50 years. In fact economists came up with a term "Hindu Growth" to describe India and her total inability to move forward. During all those decades with India moving like a giant slug Pakistan was leading India. Now your ahead and suddenly you pull your foretail out and start masticating? Don't let things cloud your head. Get a grip.

You need to introspect what let you down. It is not India, but your perennial hatred towards India. The same hatred that lead you to create terrorist groups, even worse, terrorist mentality. That is the single most important thing that became undoing for you. When I was a kid, I read an editorial where in one prominent journalist narrated how his visiting pakistani friend mocked India's failing infrastructure. At that time Karachi had world class roads and other infra..but no.. nothing seems to satisfy your country more than destruction of India.. not even well being of your own countrymen and no price is dearer, not even your own country..

This is written by genius, he is calling US an emerging market and China as a dead end. Do you think he actually knows what he is talking about.

actually yes for following reasons:

* US is emerging in more than one ways. The financial services and capital markets sector has almost recovered; the energy sector is awaiting a bump up in prices, and the capital is chasing low prices right now!, and gasp! manufacturing is beginning to come back a bit! Auto, aviation are emerging out of doldrums

* China is not YET a writeoff but it will depend upon how cpc deals with the $6-8T (according to People's Daily) or $26T (according to Bloomberg) of write-offs that is waiting to happen currently sitting in the form of wasted irrecoverable project loans given by government owned banks to over 1000 local cities within the country. Add to that the oncoming increasing shut down of cyber access (aka hacking) from China to labs and universities in the west, China will not be able to even 'innovate' out of its current state. Finally if the west (USA and select EU countries) withdraw even 25% of manufacture out of China for moving to other Asian countries which are preparing for just such a move, Chinese will be a deep deep sink

So don't mock this report

Recovering from recession is not the the same as up and coming economies say as India, China and other respected nations.

Chinese bad loan write off which i am not aware of, but lets take your word for it, was spent on Chinese cities and infrastructure and therefore its not a bad loan, regardless if the city can pay it back to the central government or not. Chinese economy even in slow is growing at 7% thats not a joke by any imagination.

Recovering from recession is done. That is one small part of it. The change US oil sourcing is a permanent shift. The bringing back of manufacturing is a permanent shift. These and the other changes are structural. You should understand what is 'emerging' about traditionally labelled 'emerging markets' and then view this. That is why money is flowing into the USA creating the high dollar issue btw.

I don't think you understood the Chinese write off problem - please research

Indians need to move away from their reliance on agriculture. It employs 55% of the population and has a gdp contribution of 15%. While those who have embraced manufacturing and services are better off 4 to 8 fold than someone in agri. China realized this was a problem and Deng helped transition them into a more value adding model. India I think will head into a similar transition over the next 25 years.

The stark divide between urban and rural population also produces opportunities to entrepreneurs at this point but there are several challenges head - rural education being the primary.
