If UP minister Azam Khan had deployed a massive police team to find his stolen buffaloes, in Pakistan, two constables were fired for allegedly plucking a guava from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's garden!

Poor Abid and Saifullah were dismissed from service after they were found guilty of their crime, Lahore police sources said, reported PTI.

The security in-charge caught both the constables plucking the guava from the 'forbidden tree' at the Jati Umra residence of Sharif in Raiwind, located at the outskirts of Lahore.

The security in-charge reprimanded the two constables and submitted a complaint against them to the higher police authorities who dismissed them from service.

Lahore police spokesman, however, denied firing of the constables on the ground of plucking guavas.

Earlier this year, 27 policemen deployed at Sharif's residence were suspended from service after a few peacocks were killed by a cat.

"The policemen were punished for failing to stop the cat from killing the peacocks. The cops deployed to guard the birds were found asleep when the cat killed the peacocks," the inquiry finding official said.

Sharif's farmhouse residence is sprawling over 400 acres and more than 2,000 policemen have been deployed at Raiwind Road leading to his residence and inside of it.

The opposition has strongly criticised the government for spending millions of rupees for the security of the prime minister's residence in Lahore.

They were dismissed from the PMs security, not from the service. Its highly unprofessional to be doing these things when you are a part of a PM security team. The conduct was unprofessional and thats why they were kicked out. And its not like the PM himself caught them stealing the guavas, its probably someone from the management who found the police behavior highly unprofessional.

You're demoted or your reporting station is changed. Not fired, you cannot fire civil servants. The PM has 1200 men for his protection. What does he need 1200 for? I have fundamental issues with him firing staff over dead peacocks, cats and what nonsense. I was in his MT office a few days back and i was surprised at the security there. No wonder we are understaffed in police departments all over the city when they take 10% of the whole police force of Punjaab for themselves.
