Lahoris get beating of a Lifetime by Police| Grand Operation against PTI| Lahore City birthplace destroyed| Standing-up for Imran Khan political rally

Really? Nothing has been violated? From illegal phone taping , sexual torture on Swati and Gill. Assassination attempt on Khan and refusing to file FIR? Refusing to follow court orders. Banning Khan from national airways, banning news channel from airing. Police torture and killing of innocent civilians.

My question was specific to the topic of this thread: what was violated with the imposition of Sec 144, the public demonstrations, the subsequent violence, including the loss of life. All of the above, important as it is to discuss elsewhere, are not the topic of this thread.

On topic again: I hope that Friday prayers pass peacefully without further violence. Anarchy will not help anything.

Even if true People in the forces are also from within Pakistan and they are seeing what is happening. Which direction their seniors are putting Pakistan in and the implications of it. How long before they start rejecting orders altogether. That day does not seem far.

That day has been predicted for a long time now. May be it is closer this time. Let us wait and see.

Punjab power , it’ll be the punjabis who will break the shackles of the British coon army .

Fucking coons. As Malcolm X stated fcuk the colonial generals , a bullet in their heads is needed .

If you are asking about the armys constitutional violations, a brigadier of ISI is running the show in Punjab from behind the scenes.
The COAS is openly overstepping his role. There are many other examples that if tried in free court system can lead to severe punishments if not execution for treason.

Please the above (#62)

This was not a demonstration but a rally - even that is allowed by law. PTI had all the required permissions and routes secured for security etc before the planned political rally. Section 144 was imposed late night before the rally and heavy contingent with riot equipment (water cannons, teargas, containers etc) was brought specifically for this rally. Section 144 was imposed just for one day to legally do violence against a party.
The issue here is that violence was initiated and purported by the govt. through use of sec 144. Had they let the party rally as they had agreed, none of this would have happened. Otherwise as I had said, so many govts in past and present have created and used laws to brutalize people. Not long ago over here blacks couldn’t sit in w restaurant - I wont be surprised if you in that time would have just quoted the segregation laws that discriminated the blacks instead of clearly condemning the discrimination and the subsequent violence due to its violation.

Not a day before, but on that exact day.

The night before PTI was in contact with the SP and other officials as shown with whatsapp images, and the police officials were in agreement with everything.

144 was imposed later morning. Moreover, the info minister (who is a journalist btw) said that it was due to PSL. To ab nhn ho rahi PSL? Also, the threat was only for the area around PTI rally, nowhere else? And then it just vanished?

Beghairti hai, aur kuch nhn.

So their purpose was to cause harm to civilians somehow by taking a frivolous cover of a law. But the some pseudo intellectuals are purposefully leaving all of the aspects and just focusing on violation of sec 144, which is bound to happen of you impose it while a rally is in progress pr about to take place. Like I said, with the same mindset every black ever got brutalized by US police for violating the discriminatory segregation laws must be the one to blame - actually this is even more sinister as the sec 144 is imposed right before an event for a specific rally only.

The key legal issue here is going to be whether the declaration of Sec 144 was done correctly or not, and whether it was applied to the rally correctly or not. If not, those responsible will be far easier to prosecute as criminals. That is my only point. The rest of your speculation above is irrelevant, unjustified and unnecessary, but sadly expected.

As I was saying to @The Accountant , the determination of the legality of the imposition of Sec 144 is important:

"Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has called a meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday (March 13) to discuss the PTI’s petitions against the “illegal imposition” of Section 144 and ban on the party’s rallies in Lahore."
