stupid of him to bring up religion. Am sure almost all nationalities dislike at least another one, yet trade and earn money. doesnt only count for muslims. I do agree with him on one point though, and that is that certain powers would like to keep the flames of destabilization and conflicts awake in the ME for their own benefit.
He is addressing Islamic Summit so by 'Muslims' he's referring to the Middle Eastern Muslim majority nations. I think he is displaying leadership here but it isn't going to have a major effect soon because some leaders in this region have different priorities and look out for their interests only when they don't realize the monopoly effect in this region. All our interests interconnect and whatever decisions are made will effect every other Muslim majority country. Turkey has been under verbal attack lately by Western sources/Israeli/Jewish press. Because Turkey wants to make its independent decisions such as the one in Kobane. I believe this is prelude to Turkey shifting alliance if Western rhetoric is going to increase. Lately the Pope has also made strange statements. The Vatican is getting more attention than usual and they are using the Pope to stir up religious fervor and his influence in Europe is being used to their advantage. Even though European population is largely Godless secular population. But, interests are more important and Erdogan is emphasizing this here, they are not looking for peace in the Middle East. They are looking to dominate and demean us more and more and it's becoming very irrational and requires us to have discussion about what they're up to because the hatred against the people of the Middle East is not normal. The policy has been this since European colonization.
We need to come to realize this.
